My recommendation
1. Download the PDF manual(s) and tutorials from the Roland Site
2. Read the Manual and work through the tutes
3. Check out the website MVNation and register yourself there
4. Check out the video tutorials in the Video Tutorials thread at MVNation
5. Use the MV8800 as much as you can
6. If a problem or question arises, check the manual FIRST, then ask the question either here or MVNAtion.
Congrats on a kewl purchase.

THANX SYD WILL DO...
WHILE IT'S ON MY MIND, HOW DO ERASE SAPLES THAT ARE TAKING UP MY WAVE MEMORY. I READ THE MANUAL PDF. A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT WHEN I TURN THE MV ON, THE SAMPLES COME RIGHT BACK. WTF......

You can say that again. :) Mate, you really gotta get into that manual. Also have a play by setting up a project that is just for finding your way, that way you play with stuff without mucking anything up. The mv is fairly intuitive wrt to stuff like deleting samples.
When I started, I got frustrated with the way Instruments are put together, but man once you get to a certain point, things start to happen. You won't get to that point by getting answers off the forum. You gotta dig.
I promise the more you dig the more you will love this machine.
Check out the sample manager. :)

DELETE THE samples then save the song.......on my machine they don't comeback......but you have to save the newly edited song or project to keep the samples deleted...... T ......WORKS only in the phrase area.....not with patches....patches load as saved.....
