"mojkarma, if you think that every patch in the Fantom-G needs an EQ to sit well in the mix, you're just wrong and that's it. If you need me to come up with a spectrum analysis and how the G's patches fit together, I will do it. "

I never said that every patch needs an EQ to be placed well in a mix. But regardless, the EQ is the most important tool to place a sound in a mix. And on the Fantom G using an EQ means that you have to sacrifice the insert effect, or use the 2band high/low if the effect has one, or you have to fiddle with the filters.
That's my point. There is no need for any spectrum analysis. Mixing is done by ear and not by spectrum analysis.

"And do you think you have the right to ask someone (in this case, branko) to leave the topic? You do not even own this topic. And you're not a forum moderator to say anything like that. He may be a bit fanatic about the G, but this doesn't give you any special rights to shut him up. "

Interessting point Artemiy!
I don't have the right to ask branko to leave the topic, but he has the right to ask me to leave the forum and go to some triton forum just because I have to say something good about the M3.
It is up to you, you own the forum and you decide if you want this place to be a religous fanboy group or a place where the not so good aspects of the Fantom G will be discussed in the same way as the good points.

Sorry I missed the part where branko was asking you to leave the topic. Then my words apply to him as well ;-)

Anyways, when I do tracks on the G, I rarely need anything apart from what the effects system already provides. And by what you write here I can conclude that my ears seem to accept what I get - yours don't. So if it can't be proven by strict scientific analysis, then your opinion becomes a personal wish, no more. You don't like the way the G sounds, is this what you want to say here?

If you don't like the Fantom G then just don't buy it!
If you don't like the M3 then just don't buy it!

Everything could be better in this world but it isn't, also the workstations.

But time is limited so take the gear how they are and make music.

You can always put new ideas in this forum for improvement of the gears but you have to decide which one fits best to your working (hearing) style.

So this is my first and last comment in this thread! then mostly there are personal tastes involved and there are no wrong or right.

So, once more decide with workstation fits you, get it, and make music.

Cheers and merry Christmas.
