Ok, I am old and slow so can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.
I have a Motif XS hooked into my G8 via Midi out of the G into the in of the Motif. I then went to Part View on the G, External, and set channel 1 which gave me the control of the Motif. At least to a degree I think. I set my Motif to a organ and tried to record onto the G through a midi track via line L in on the G from the audio out of the Motif. First I cannot hear a click and when I record and play back I am only getting part of the notes. I am hopelessly lost.
Thanks.

I tried using the Arp on the G when recording and it sounded good. When I played back, the Arp didn't sound like it was fully engaged. Should I be recording to a Midi track or Audio? If I go audio, I see the material on the screen but no playback. If I go Midi I see the notes and get playback.
What is the best way to configure the rack to be used with the G?
I need some step by step tutorial.
Thanks.

well one problem may be that you are only running a mono signal from the rack to the G. I think it may sound more full / better with a stereo signal.
