Done making ARX cards?

So - is Roland done making ARX cards? If they were making more, why not announce it. It might promote sales of G units?

Why would they announce something that is not yet finished? Remember how some of their synths were teased and then delayed, how many people were "deeply upset", to phrase it politely.

I understand Roland's position ... However, it could make a difference in stopping a sale to a rival ...
I, for one, have seriously begun the pre-contemplation phase on these ...
Yeah, they're more than a Fantom ... In the case of the XXL ... A LOT more ... But it also seems it DOES a shedload more as well ...

Diametro, thanks, but I can get an equivalent for half the price, and a more stable one (not with Windows which will one day refuse to start up, or worse, catch a virus and destroy all my sounds and music).
MacBook Pro 13" + Akai MPK-49 or Nocturn 49 + Logic Studio or Live + some additional plugins = under $2500.

I don't care if it is a long deadline - like a year from now.
But to say nothing - can mean that therte will be no more.
They may even make a keyboard that uses something different than ARX.
So if they are working on more ARX's now they can simply say so.
All they have to do is be honest.

deswind, you see a dark room, and how do you know if there IS something there is there IS NOT? You can imagine anything, but until the lights are on, you won't know for sure. Most companies keep secret about what's in development, and that's normal, and in the end, better for everyone. All we have to know is that major product announcements happen at NAMM or Messe.

I know you love Roland. I do too.
But all they have to say is - "we plan on making more ARX cards"
That would not be any big secret that competitors would steal.
Meanwhile it would let people know that are thinking of buying a G now, that there will not just be the cards that are out now.
Now if they are not planning on making more cards, then the sales they make now are probably going to make a lot of people angry.
Now If I had to guess, they are going to announce more cards at NAMM. If they don't - then I am suspicious.
And in their defense, take the orchetral and world sounds - they have to do something special in the sampling, etc. to make them better than the SRX which is already quite good.,
But if they abandon the ARX altogether and just come out with a new Fantom, I think a lot of people will feel cheated that they invested in it, only to have such limiteed ARX expansion.
I hope that people from Roland read this forum.
All the best,
AB

“I know you love Roland”
I didn't say that ;-)
I do love Roland, as a company, meaning a company of people. Most people I have met from Roland are simply fantastic. And many of them are my friends, they all feel like one big family that you have known for ages.
But as of the products, I do not love them all because they're from Roland, although that doesn't mean they're bad or something.
“But all they have to say is - "we plan on making more ARX cards" ”
We have heard that from them already, not so long ago. Would it change something if they would jump in here once in a few months and simply say "we're working on more ARX cards", without any other details, or even dates? As they can't give out any information like that anyway. So I can't see any sense in teasing people. Better spend more time actually making something done, and this is true for us too - let's go make some noise with our G's ;-)

I meant it in a kind way - "about you loving Roland" (as I gather you took it in the best way.)
I read a lot of your posts, and whether you come out and say it, it is obvious. But I do not consider it any criticism of you at all. As I said, I love Roland. Overall, they are awesome. Sure some products are better than others. But I usually like their "best" over the competitions best.
I still want a D-50 ! I have not hear a better shakuhachi on any other keyboard since. (I even say Kitaro use it live!)
Anyway, you really answered my question by saying they are making more ARX cards. That is all I need to know. I am relieved.
So Happy Holidays. And thanks for all the help you give people on this board.

So all deswind wants is a shakuhachi ARX?
Who the h- wants that in their modern music? :D ;)

I would not mind at all if the Shachuhachi on the D-50 is in an ARX card.
But what I really want is the orchetral and world SRX cards REDONE, Resampled, etc. in ARX format.
Some choirs would be great as well.
And if it makes my voice sound like Peter Gabriel's, I will not complain. :)
Enjoy,
AB

I don't get this thread...
Why would Roland quit making ARX-cards after just three??? I don't think anyone actually believes that. And why would it make people happier if Roland said "Yes, there will be more ARX-cards"? OF COURSE THERE WILL!!!!
Sometimes I think that people just sit down and wait for more equipment all the time. They will never be satisfied. Perhaps they have forgotten what music is all about...

Of course there will be more ARX cards.
They have other hardware that takes ARX cards.
There will probably be 10 to a dozen.
I have the lights switched on.
