I use a FX with a RX. When I change a patch in a performance, the XR also switches something in the performance user at that moment.

How can I switch of the transmitting of control data etc.?

I use it because of the less MFX in the FX, I edit a performance and just want to use the sound live.

Greetszz....

WTF FX and XR with MFX and no MIDI TX/RX ROTFLOL?

:-)

I think it's somewhere in the system settings, on the MIDI page. Transmit program change or something like that if I am not mistaking.

Hey Art,

turned; Transmit and all the midi transmitting and receiving switches on "off".

When I change the volume on the Fantom X from patch 16, the RX is changeing the volume in the used performance....

don't understand why...

I have done this... the RX is still reacting on the fantom X.

Is it something in the Fantom X?

Is het perhaps the problem that I use the same synths? I used a korg M3, yamaha morif and these never did this...

I use a GW-8 E sometimes with FantomXR as sounds, and when I turn off the RX for :
Rx Program Change (Receive Program Change Switch) OFF,
Rx Bank Select (Receive Bank Select Switch) OFF,
Receive Exclusive (Receive System Exclusive Switch) OFF
Rx GM System On (Receive GM System On Switch) OFF
Rx GM2 System On (Receive GM2 System On Switch) OFF
Rx GS Reset (Receive GS Reset Switch) OFF

they doesn't change until I am doing it manualy.
So, ether you don't do Shift and ">" (Write) to memorize the changes in System, ether you're not using MIDI , but USB conections thru a laptop ?
By the way, with Edit Data on I can still use CC to modify the Fantom, so may you should turn it off too.

Cminor,

After a few weeks I am back on this thing again.

But now my problem is:

I want to use the Fantom XR only as a soundengine with the effects etc.
When I edit a performance and safe it as a performance, I only want to use the "sound" out of it.
When I edit a performance and i want to send midi to channel 15 orso(i reserved channel 15 for the XR), only the patches in the performance on the XR that are "activated" in the Fantom X, are making noise...

I switched and turned all the possible midi switches "off", but it is still sounding wrong.

In the past I used a Korg M3m instead of the XR, I programmed a performance with splits and everyting in it. I give it a "place" on the fantom X and it was doing exactly what I asked from it.

Is this a normal problem? Or am I doing something wrong...
I hope you understand my message:p

I don't understand...
which performance are you editing? the Rack or the keyboard?
what kind of noise?
I don't use the keyboard to change the XR patches, I use performances on XR that can be only manualy changed not thru midi with pc/cc00/cc32
be more specific...

The way you use the xr is the way i want to use.

I don't know what i am doing wrong.

Don't want to change settings on my xr with my fantom x. Only play parts of performances..

Is it clear now? Thanks!

and?
maybe your sample list is messy and it doesn't load the good samples for the patches you're using.
I am now using a GW-7 as a controller and sometimes it get stuck, but this is just after I use the Windows 7 driver and mess up my FantomXR.
And it doesn't do that always.
only when I forgot and use CC from the GW-7.
I guess it does receive some weird Sys Exclusive messages and get stuck.
but if I don't use the CC controls, and play only the keys, it works fine.
