Hello,

I wonder if anyone has set up any interesting Performances that they would like to share a description of?

I'm interested in ways in which people have gone beyond simple layers and splits.

It's up to you if you want to share a file of the Performance. I accept that if you're using expansion boards or samples there might not be much point.

Cheers

The red area (see attachment) is a Hammond Patch based on POWER B SRX from SRX-07. It's a slow Leslied sound with Fast Leslie on aftertouch. It has been pitched UP by 3 octaves so that the 2nd C note up on the X-7 is middle C..

The blue area is two ethnic sounding Patches from the SRX-09 board: SultanPalace and HamrDulcimer played together. These are pitched DOWN so that the 2nd C from the top is middle C.

The purple area is the same two sounds doubled up an octave lower.
Normally, I would play octave basses here, but to fit it all on the keyboard together I now play one key and get the note and the octave lower as well.

X, Y and Z all play G notes. The Z plays a low G on a big string sound. The Y plays the same string sound and a big bell. The X plays the strings, the bell & a low piano note.

This means that during the 3 repetitions of the turnaround riff between certain sections of the song I can build the tension by playing the lowest G of the blue & purple areas with the Z, then the low blue G with the Y, and finally the low blue G with the X key.

I'll try to record a quick live clip over the weekend and upload it.

Cheers
Andy

If you want to hear this performance in action, go to http://www.myspace.com/firegardensheffield and listen to the track Peregrine.

It's live, and all the keys were played as is from this one Performance. (The Hammond sound was coming from my Nord, but was played from the Fantom keyboard).

I'd be interested in anyone's thoughts or suggestions.
