Roland U20 - Blank Screen & No Response To Buttons
The other day, I flipped on my U20 to find the screen would only show a series of black squares across the top of the screen. It would not respond to any buttons. Also, I noticed when my amplifier was on, the U20 would emit a high pitched "squeal" when first turned on and then fade away. W...

JV-35 Sound Issues
I have an opportunity to purchase a JV-35 for a fair price. It was in good working condition, but has sat for many years unused. Now, it has an issue with creating sound. The display and the buttons work and respond very well. However, I get no sound when using the headphone jack. If I use the Mono ...

U-20 Minor Electronic Issues: Fixable?
I'm having a couple of issues with my U-20. Neither are really serious, but I'd like to repair them nonetheless if I can. First of all, the slider switch for changing parameters is acting up. It's very sensitive (always has been, actually) and if you slide it a certain way and stop, the data keeps g...

U-20 Contact Strips
About three years ago, I had my U-20 refreshed with a new key bed assembly to resolve the issue of unstable glue and dropping key weights.
I was curious, does the new key bed assembly that Roland provided also take care of the sometimes faulty contact strips issue as well?

How Do I Save U-20 Data To PC And Restore Later?
I have a nearly perfect 20-year-old Roland U-20. I know before long I will have to change the internal battery. I need help in transmitting all internal data to my PC and then restoring later. I currently also have a M-Audio Midi-sport Uno usb-to-MIDI interface and I have a Sound Patch Editor, which...

Patch Editing & Saving Software For Roland U-20
<t>Now that I have my Roland U-20 up and running again, I need to have a way to save the sound patches to my PC. When the battery goes down again, I'm going to be up a creek without a paddle, as they say. <br/> <br/> I would also like to be able to edit sound patches on my PC as well. I already have...

Roland U-20 Memory Issues
<t>I recently installed a new battery in my U-20 and had a new key bed installed. I reloaded all the factory settings with an old RAM card and it plays fine.<br/> <br/> However, when I turn it off and then turn it on later, everything is gone again. In fact, when it first starts up, it says "Initial...

Chemical Solution For Keyboard Cleaning
<t>I'm the proud owner of a seventeen-year-old Roland U-20. It's in excellent shape except for in the past year it has become victim to the curse of the unstable keyweight epoxy. And dust. And one spilled drink (Coca Cola).<br/> <br/> I have one key that isn't working properly and another that is sl...
