Bump on this. I notice that Akai has their custom "JJ OS" which was written by an AKAI EX engineer for older Akai products.
It would be pretty awesome if something like this were made available for Roland XP and MC X0 and X0X products.

Re: No linear sequencer
I picked up an ancient Roland MC80 for this very reason.
Why are the heavyweights ignoring the linear sequencer market?
Imagine an MC90 with bluetooth mouse input, one of those 320x240 displays and an SD card slot!

Re: Roland MC80 and CF Card Drive
I also picked up the STARTECH CF IDE card drive, but opted to get the SCSI2SD PLUG OUT DRIVE connected to the backport instead as ANY and EVERY sd card will work. It would be great if that special ribbon cable that connects to the VS4S-1 card could be adapted to connect directly to an internal SCSI ...

Re: Card readers for the Roland MC-80? (Internal IDE)
Hi. I ended up buying an SCSI2SD Mini Drive and have it connected to the SCSI port on the MC80. Works like a charm.
That said, I am interested in your solutions. What did you come up with? (Thanks for responding)

SVD2SYSX for MSDOS - Anyone have a copy they can upload here?
Back in the 90s, there was a freeware DOS app called SVD2SYSX that allowed conversion of SVD files to SYSX for the Roland XP/JV series. Does anyone have a copy they can upload here? All traces of it are dead online!

Extracting JV/XP Performance Data To Import To XV
JV/XP Performance Data isn't compatible with the XV. In other words, if you import an SVD or bank from the Super JV Series, the XV series will not import or recognize it. Is there a way to extract a performance set from an SVD file so it is readable on an XV without having to own a JV module?

Can an SCSI card reader be put in the MC80 and connected to the internal SCSI connector in place of the VS4S-1?
I am curious. The MC80 can be fitted with a VS4S-1 card for SCSI. This means there is an internal SCSI connector on the board. The internal SCSI is for saving and loading which is all the MC80 can do from a drive anyway. Doesn't this mean that modern SCSI cards can be fitted internally and connected...

Card readers for the Roland MC-80? (Internal IDE)
I know this is a long shot, but is there a list of compatible SD or CF card readers for the MC80? It's been out of production for 20 years, I know. The MC80 has an IDE connection, but not all IDE card readers are compatible. There are hints from past threads and comments online. For example, on Vint...

Re: Question about BANKS on the Integra 7
Thanks. Every Roland unit has some annoying limitation. I will probably pick one of these up and have one ALONG with a Mint 5080 when I find one.

Question about BANKS on the Integra 7
How many USB banks are you allowed to have? 64 STUDIO SETS ("PERFORMANCES" in LEGACY SPEAK) surely sucks, but if you're allowed to have unlimited number of PATCHES (tones) and PERFORMANCES (studio sets) on a USB stick that can be accessed just like internal memory then I can live with that...

Can THIS type of USB Memory Stick be used with the Integra 7
Hi all. Considering purchasing an Integra 7. I see that it uses Memory Sticks to hold patches. There are several types of memory sticks which house SD cards. There is a thread here where someone said they were able to use this type of memory stick with their Jupiter 50. Can these work (see pic)? htt...

Confused about CARD BANKS.
I understand that the Fantom XR allows for 256 user memories on the actual machine and 256 on a card that can be accessible (played/edited). My question is, can one store MULTIPLE CARD BANKS on a card with the FANTOM XR requiring that you select ONE BANK ON THE CARD to be designated as the CURRENT C...
