Tapping solos using the ribbon
Hey guys! Does anyone know if there is a way to configure the ribbon controller so that when you play a note and then touch it, the sound will jump straight to the corresponding pitch? So you can use it for tapping.

Re: technical challenge...
Set up your split in performance mode. Then, go into "part view" and then "pitch". Among other settings, that screen will give you the option to set separate fine, coarse and octave transpose for each part. You should download the Fantom-x manual from Roland's site if you haven't...

Re: Wobbly pots
I too have a tale of wobbliness to share. I bought my Fantom used in 2008 so it was already about 4 years old. Pots were a bit wobbly, if you shook them, but I thought that they are like that anyway. Never had an issue, until years later, when suddenly I was in mixer mode and the first channel's vol...

Re: Control of pads with external controller (aka e-kit)
Is your e-kit set to transmit on MIDI channel 10? That's the default channel the pads work on.

Re: Fantom X6 Sample Memory Upgrade
I actually use 1GB of RAM on my X6 and it works fine. Most PC100 or PC133 DIMMs should work, but I suggest buying one that specifically states compatibility with the Fantom just to be sure. Ebay example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1GB-168pin-PC133-Sdram-Memory-3-3V-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-64x8-based/1509784...

Re: AX Synth & Beheringer FCB1010 - HELP!!!!!!!!
From what the manual says, it seems that this is possible. It is mentioned that the AX-Synth can receive bank select and program change messages. As with barnbys issue, this might be a midi channel problem. When you have two midi devices communicating, you should always make sure that they are both ...

Re: Just built wireless MIDI into my AX Synth
Hey Arjan, great work on that mod! Thanks for attempting this, testing it and sharing your results! I just finished the same mod on my AX after reading your post. I went for a different solution for switching the wireless MIDI on and off. I didn't want to sacrifice any functionality, so instead of u...

Re: Control pedal skips live sets
After a loooooong wait due to some problem with the local Roland distributor, I finally received the DP-2 and the result is the same... I now have a very sad face :( Does anyone know if there is a sysex command for the LIVE SET UP/DOWN function? Maybe I could do it through RPS or a MIDI foot control...

Re: Control pedal skips live sets
OK so I tried factory resetting, and it still does the same thing...although after skipping to 1-12, it now goes all the way up to 16 and not just 15 like before. Any ideas? Could it be the pedal? As far as I know a sustain pedal is a simple momentary on/off switch. EDIT: Loaded my user data again. ...

Re: Control pedal skips live sets
I'm using 2.10 It's the first time I have used this setting so I don't know if it was the same with the previous OS. I think I'll try backing up everything to the CF card, then reset to factory settings. After that I'll fill up the slots with patches or songs before loading any of my data and try ag...

Control pedal skips live sets
Hello everyone, I have connected my hold pedal (Roland DP-10) as a control pedal on the fantom x6 to try out the "LIVE SET UP" mode. It is really useful for me as during a gig I sometimes miss the buttons with my fingers... I noticed some strange behaviour though, and I was wandering if an...

Re: Fantom-X online videos collection
Hello again! This is a video from a gig where I used the SRX-97 for the first time. The sound actually had some more overdrive but it sounds kinda cleaner on the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-9Oj8nCqpI I'm working on making some "how to" videos right now for setups I've made for ...

Re: Fantom-X online videos collection
My band's channel on youtube. You can see the Fantom X6 in action in gigs and recordings. It's a new channel so I'll be uploading more soon! http://www.youtube.com/user/MistfulFusionVideos Also my personal channel, also mostly dedicated to the Fantom X6. I'm thinking of doing how-to videos about spe...

Re: S/PDIF: crackling noises
I stumbled across this thread again by accident. Kinda late for an answer i guess but it might help someone else... The low latency was not to blame after all. The solution for me (E-MU 1212 PCI) was to select external sync and specificaly S/PDIF. I guess that way the Fantom itself does the syncing ...

Re: RPS TOGGLE SWITCH POSSIBLE?
I tried a program named MIDI-OX to capture MIDI and sysex messages on the Fantom. I noticed that while changing the pad assignment for D-Beam transmits sysex, doing the same with pattern assignment for a key does not (actually no type of message or command shows up). Does that mean that, not everyth...
