Re: VA-section of the JP-80: Supernatural?..
AP (Articulative Phrase) SYNTHESIS technology models the performance behavior and nuance of acoustic musical instruments for naturally expressive sound Sounds like the beginning of SuperNATURAL to me. Apply this to classic synth sounds....... & you have SuperNatural synth tones. APS is a THIRD ...

Re: VA-section of the JP-80: Supernatural?..
I'm also a V-Synth (GT) owner and asking myself the same question. It's my understanding (pure speculation) that "SuperNatural" VA means that the oscillators have a better definition because of more powerful DSP than in previous VA from Roland, resulting in less aliasing than in the V-Synt...

It's a live-oriented board, you're supposed to have space on stage. I do not think Roland will produce another version, but who knows...

Re: Where are the detailed single instruments demos?
Since it's been a couple of years since Roland's marketing department vanished into the netherworld, you'll have to wait for the instrument to be available for retail. This is the point where demonstrations videos will start to pop on Youtube, in which the instrument will be horribly played by music...

Re: How to get 'Formant' / Vari-phrase working?
Zones are great, but it is sometimes quite hard to get smooth transitions between zones, timbre and brilliance are hard to match at zone's limits with some kinds of samples.

Re: 3 V-Synth XT's on Jordan Rudess RIG
It's a bit sad, thanks to Roland's marketing being so poor, that we actually have to watch some Korg corporate videos to see great artists using Roland gears. If only Roland had realized the tremendous impact of those Youtube videos on the music market, and taking advantage of such great artists lik...

Re: Making a patch wider/ OSC panning
A very gentle chorus often helps widening patches. You can also add a bit of LFO modulation to the panning in the TVA section.

Re: A Little more INFO.
I hope Roland will release more informations about the VA of the JP80 very soon. It looks like each partial's structure is fixed in a classic Osc's->Filter->Amp scheme, and that there is only one filter per partial. If true this would be a major step back from the JP8, that includes a very very nice...

Re: Important Video: Explanation of JP Sound Engine
There is something REALLY disturbing in the "Synth Tone Edit" screenshot. In the filter section, the filter can be either Lowpass, Highpass, etc... But one of the feature that made the JP8 very exiting by its time (besides OSC cross modulation) was the dual HPF + LPF filter, where the OSC'...

Re: Why would you purchase an 80 over a G or Kronos?
Since Korg unveiled Kronos, I must admit that I've been lusting on it. For about the same price, the Kronos has two more VA engines, FM capabilities, sampling and a sequencer (plus that fun KARMA stuff all of their synths embed so far.) I do want to be convinced to buy the JP80 instead, I really do ...

Re: Xendodelia Soundset for V-synth, free patches
The GT can import XT projects. Put the .PRJ folder in a directory named "XT" on an USB memory stick, go to the utility menu, press "Project" and choose "Convert project." The GT will import the project in RAM, you still have to manually save it yet with the "Save P...

The V-Synth has also been a faithful partner here for almost two years, and still amazes me as much as the first day I put hands on it.
