Re: Keyboard amp
Perfect practice amp. Portable with multiple inputs. However, worst amp for a live band. Similar priced powered monitors sound much better with power to compete with the drummer and guitar.

Re: Does the JV 1010 have ADSR envelopes?
Yes, the JV-1010 has ADSR envelopes, filters, LFOs, etc. that can all be edited. However, the JV-1010 manual only mentions parameters that can be edited from the unit itself, and does not mention the many parameters that are available when connecting to a computer. There were a few editors created b...

Re: JV 1010 drum patches?
Using the Value knob to select Patch mode, you may find some drum "patches" scattered over several banks. However, using the Value knob to select Rhythm mode, you will see "rhythm sets" containing most kits and percussion instruments. Then by selecting different banks, you can sc...

Re: SR-JV80-16 Orchestral II: still worth buying?
If you just cannot seem to get enough from the built-in Orchestral sounds on the XP-30, and want more, the Orch II has enough different sounds to be a great compliment. But don't pay more than $120. However, if you are only occasionally using a string patch in your music, save the 2 extra expansion ...

Re: Editor install on macbook pro
AFAIK, still after 9 months, there is currently no editor software produced by Roland that is yet compatible with OS Lion. Even Korg has yet to release a Kronos editor announced a year ago, possible because of Lion testing. This is the reason I have kept my old computer and editor working with my Fa...

Re: Srx duplicating on both my Fantoms
Remember the filters, LFO, effects, parameters, etc. that are stored with a patch/preset dramatically affect the sound. An initialized patch will have most all parameters open, thereby allowing you to hear the waveform(s) unaffected. Then, you may be able to audition, compare and find SRX waveforms ...

Re: question about SPDIF connection from AI to FG
My XV-5080 sound module has SPDIF OUT that I run to the FantomG SPDIF IN. In this way, I can use the FG to mix both internal and external sounds, allowing the use of a single output volume control for all. I can also use the FG effects to process the XV-5080, or even directly sample it.

Re: Piano Sounds
I just bought All Pianos Pack from Walgrafix' fantomgsounds.com. All are excellent quality. I lost a few hours of sleep this week. For solo piano work, nothing can beat them for the FG. (Not many other options anyway.) I agree with Kenchan, that the Steinway is my favorite. So full! I love bright pi...
