ROM stands for "Read Only Memory". You will not be able to write or reload to this memory space. If you haven't done so already, do as suggested and remove any SRX cards, memory expansion, or compact flash cards and reboot. Any of these can corrupt the bootup process if they are defective....

In this instance, the factory reset should probably be your first resort. It's no big deal and solves 'odd' problems the majority of the time. Just back your data up and/or save your Roland folder and reset. Do a restore and/or transfer the Roland folder back and you'll probably be back in business....

I've been using 2gig cards for years with no problem. Lexar and Kingston brands.
Haven't tried anything larger because I regularly backup to PC.
