Re: Bouncing down to stereo using interface and fantom edito

Don't do it. Actually, bouncing a stereo mix through your Tascam isn't likely to help anything either. You might end up with a slightly louder version, but what's the point. It's the same as normalizing; you are essentially just bringing up the noise. You may have to go back and look at the question...

Re: Cubase w/ JunoG Help needed!

I'm not aware there is one, have you checked backstage.rolandus.com?

You could always write it out and share it here. ;) I know there are a few Reason users around.

Re: Cubase w/ JunoG Help needed!

It really shouldn't, but if you can stick with it I think you'll find resolution yet. I mostly run Sonar so inherently I think Cubase does almost everything backwards, but what it sounds like is that your MIDI out may need attention. Could you confirm that is going out to the Juno and not the intern...

Re: Cubase w/ JunoG Help needed!

Okay, I just put Cubase back together and loaded Juno-G into the MIDI Device Manager. It showed up when I put the .txt file in that directory too. From there, when you setup a new MIDI track you should see the Juno-G as an available device. Below that, you can select the Channel and Program(Patchnam...

Re: Reason 5.0 MIDI HELP!

I believe "Sample, Sample, Sample" is the name of the game.

Reason likes being it's own little self-contained production environment. I've never been keen on it as I'd much rather play with real cables, but that said - Rewire the beast into your DAW and you've got the best of both worlds.

Re: Cubase w/ JunoG Help needed!

Great to hear!!! It's hard to understand much anything whilst banging your head on the wall. Thanks for the compliment; you're welcome too. I think you got it with the patchnames. Cubase forums confused me when I tried to get it working the first time. After the script is in the right place, the Jun...

Re: sound impedance

You're on the right track with guitars but as Arjan commented it's a pickup thing. What can happen is the mismatch in impedance loads can change the pickup's 'character' (for lack of a more technical term - typical result = muddiness). The answer could be a DI box. DI box can also be used on a synth...

Re: Cubase w/ JunoG Help needed!

It sounds like you have the MIDI drivers setup correctly if you've triggered Juno via MIDI in Reason or vice versa. Since you mentioned GM sounds I have to guessing you want the Juno Patch list in Cubase? You'll need a patch definition file for Juno-G/Cubase from RolandUS Backstage for that. Then yo...

Re: same sound during song mode...help

One answer is to use the PRST:002 Seq:Template performance when starting new songs. The problem you are having sounds like you have the KBD SW (F2 on the main Perform Play screen) turned on for part 1. Starting from the Seq:Template the Keyboard Switch will be turned off for every part and the only ...

Re: Regarding Quantization

Quantization is a function of a sequencer. No sequencer, no quantization.

Metronome FTW.

Is Grammar running for Bishop again?

Until Roland answers with their plans, the pontificating must continue.

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?

No doubt, dedicated hardware is by far in the minority now and I'm not a proponent of going backwards by any means. There's no need for that. The three lines I was thinking of are Edirol(Interfaces, Pro Field Recorders), Cakewalk(DAW, Controllers, VSTi), and well Roland(instruments). Okay, Edirol is...

Re: Considering Fantom G over Kronos?

Would you like to buy my DAW? Actually, I might like to buy your DAW. Although, I'm not interested in the MOTU, you'd probably be better keeping that if you bought it retail. I'm curious if you're running it via Firewire or USB. PS. I don't think it's crazy you're considering the Fantom over a Kron...

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?

Roland has switched already attention to Virtual Studios in collaboration with Cakewalk. Switched already? I have to disagree. To me it seems they are playing with the studio idea like a confused kitten. Maybe they didn't drink enough milk, but do you think the current array of recording gear acros...

Excellent point.

The question becomes obfuscated even further when you consider the converters back in.
