Re: MC-909 Owners Question???
<t>REPLY TO DR. WHO: <br/> you probably know this by now: yes, the 808 and 909 drumsets are mapped in their own proprietary way, no matching whatsoever with GM standards. This is very annoying and unconvenient, but there is nothing you can do about it, because, it appears, even remapping a drumkit i...

Re: MC909 w/ SRX-01 Drum Expansion: Installing Patches PROBL
<t>Unfortunately i cannot help you with that, as I have another board plugged in, but I do have a question: does your drum board map the drums ina GM style, or in proprietary 909 mapping? <br/> Because I have found this to be the most annoying bug of the 909: its drumsets are mapped in their own spe...

MC-909: nasty bugs, quirks, and unanswered problems.
<t>While I really love the MC-909, I must say the machine has several bugs, and being discontinued by Roland, no further fixes will be coming, i'm afraid. <br/> <br/> -SMS IMPORT BUG: <br/> One of the major ones I have found AFTER OS 1.29 has cleared the old ones, is that you CANNOT import a Midifil...

MC-909 SMF import problem + sequencer reset problem
<t>Hi, does anyone know why, when importing Standard Midi Files into a user pattern, the machine resets all its parts to the default values (patch, level, pan, efx, all gets resetted); whatever edits you had made to the sounds and performance of that user pattern is lost. On other Roland machines, t...

Re: My opinion on the Juno-G
<t>Besides all else, I find the occasion apt to remind Artemiy that when I first registered, a few months back, i DONATED some euros, and the flag said that I could have downloaded a bank of Fantom S/X sounds, but I never found any link to download wnytjhing, im still waiting for my reward, thanks. ...

Re: My opinion on the Juno-G
You guys all sound truely like McDonald-fed, overweight and single to me. And with eyeglasses, too.
Keep doin' your thing, make sure you don't get hit in the face by someone you recommended the Juno G to, and got ripped off BY it and by the dealer he turned it to after a while.

Re: My opinion on the Juno-G
<t>There's two more thing I need to say: <br/> I love Roland, the machines I loved the most were all Roland , a couple of Yammies and 1 Korg. Roland makes fantastic gear, but they also do too many bloopers. The Juno G, if you talk with ANY dealer the world over, is their worst in several years, toge...

Re: My opinion on the Juno-G
<t>I am sorry, Artemiy I know you are a nice guy and always very helpful, but I am not a newbie, i've had synths for THIRTY years, and still am a pro producer; ALSO, I have been Italy's premier music electronics dealer 1999 to 2004, and a top Yamaha/Roland/Korg dealer, I know what I'm talking about,...

Re: Some (perhaps unjustified?) accusations against the Fant
<t>I want to chirp in for a couple insights. <br/> Motif XS and Roland F-G are on a par, with Motif being more of a finished product and Roland more of a BETA version that has, though, even in its half-finished condition, more scope that the Motif could ever have. In short, if you buy the Motif, you...

My opinion on the Juno-G
WARNING! THIS POST CONTAINS UNTRUE AND FALSE INFORMATION AND A HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE OPINION AND HMMM... DO NOT BUY ...

VOCODING (i wish) and vocal resampling on X6
<t>Hi, I have the X6 but since i got it the day before vacation it's back home and I'll see it only tomorrow for the first time. I am familiar with most Roland gear and I already tried this, but one thing i didn't know before purchase is the lack of a vocoder algorithm (Korg boards have it, Motif i ...

<t>ODABODA, listen to me: you don't need to buy any memory expansion just yet:<br/> my guess is that you have bought your used Fantom with all the previous owner's work still into it. There are probably songs, user sounds, samples and other stuff that need to be cleaned. Do a FACORY RESET operation ...

Re: Fantom-S and Fantom-X Frequently Asked Questions
<t>Hi Artemiy,<br/> a couple of quick notes oin the FAQ:<br/> <br/> Regarding point 4/1:<br/> Although it is not necessary nor particularly important, it is better to stick with the "PART equals TRACK" scheme when doing sequencer work (performance number 1 assigned to sequencer track 1, and so on), ...

<t>is it possible that you are using a set of outputs for your home monitoring, and a different one for your live connections? Becvause if you do, it might be possible that some settings are placed on only one set of outputs. For instance, sometimes I connet my keyboard to a small pair of speakers t...
