Re: Did Roland just D-day us all?

I use a Kronos 2 as my sampler :) I'm not sure you've thought this through. You'll get your sampler out of Roland then same folks will complain there's not enough storage. 30Gb was a limitation for Kronos owners 7 years ago. The sampler is the simplest thing to replace...we all work very differentl...

Re: Did Roland just D-day us all?

Fantom isn't a sampler in the classic sense and never will be. Think about this for a moment. It has 1.75GB memory. If you load that up with some old MKS20 piano samples you won't have any space to use the loop features. The kronos has 30Gb SSD about 17X the size of fantom memory and by most accoun...

Re: Did Roland just D-day us all?

@Devnor Please read my post in the context I wrote it as an answer to apex. Scenes is the new name for the equivalent of the performance on earlier Fantoms or registration on the Jupiter-80. But the way they are graphically presented on the screen is the same as on the Kronos or the Montage/MoDX. Kr...

Re: Did Roland just D-day us all?

hilarious to me that a new flagship board comes out and folks want to immediately load samples into it vs digging into all the hundreds and thousands of onboarding sounds... The new Fantom is also meant to be played live, on stage. That's why it has a set list mode and seamless switching, stuff you...

Re: Jupiter 80 - worst midi controller ever

If "mojkarma" really doesn't own a JP-80 and is just agitating and pretending, then he is simply a liar and deserves indeed no respect nor any responses from honest forum members... Dany, you are far to short time on this forum to actually understand some of those people who barely ever s...

Jupiter 80 - worst midi controller ever

The subject says it all. Those are the little things that you can't test in the store or before buying the keyboard. It's promoted as a performance keyboard. We all know that it comes without a sampler (or sample playback), so using a second keyboard or hooking up a module is your only option. Well,...

Re: New Roland Jupiter Legacy Collection

But there is a serious question behind all of this: Should I already order an INTEGRA-7 in order to obtain those new SN Acoustic Tones, or should I wait until it will be very clear, that there won't be any further OS updates for the JP-80 (or hopefully the contrary) ? - I don't know why it's so dif...

Re: New INTEGRA-7 SN-Acoustic Instrument Models for JP-80?

Mojkarma is makina a lot of assumptions regarding JP-80 sales, probably based on guesses. (Unless he has access to priviliged corporation information, which I doubt.) I don't have any inside information of course. I'm not connected to Roland in any way. I make my guesses based on how Roland behaved...

Re: New Roland Jupiter Legacy Collection

Shame Roland are getting a bashing for spending time to give us free sounds - Korg charges for such things! I agree with you on the first part. Personally, it was clear for me that Roland creates a patch set and not a completely new OS which will mimic everything, from a moog up to a d-50. People s...

Re: INTEGRA-7 SRX-Boards for Jupiter-80?

Fully agree, but for me (for example), as a home composer and occasional gigging musician, with no money to buy an expensive JP-80, Integra-7 (seems) to offer a little of both Worlds like the Fantom (16 Part Multitimbral, FX per Part, with SRX collection), the SuperNatural new sounds, and a few oth...

Re: New INTEGRA-7 SN-Acoustic Instrument Models for JP-80?

Will we JP-80 users (who had to pay more than the double amount than INTEGRA-7 users) ever receive those new INTEGRA-7 SN Acoustic Instrument Models or/and the SN Drum Model in a future update? Of course not. You get what you paid for when you bought your jp80 as is. Besides that, Roland is pretty ...

Re: INTEGRA-7 SRX-Boards for Jupiter-80?

And by the way... I'm on the list for an integra-7 too Mojkarma ;-) That's fine for you. I was thinking about getting one too. However, as a jupiter80 owner, I won't spend my money to get a jupiter again in the form of a module and over it a 12 years old xv5080 and 4 pathetic expansion slots which ...

Re: INTEGRA-7 SRX-Boards for Jupiter-80?

Effects: we are back at ONE FX per part if I read the specs correctly. So, we can again start to discuss how to create a organ with rotary and overdrive... Interestingly, that does seem to have been somehow addressed. Check the demo page at http://www.roland.com/video/page.cfm?id=266863930002 and l...

Re: INTEGRA-7 SRX-Boards for Jupiter-80?

So there is definitively NO Jupiter-80 inside the INTEGRA-7. The slogan "The Jupiter for the Rack" is just a marketing hype. - Soundwise there is even more than a JP80 inside. Besides the SRX expansions, there are new SN instrument models, not available on the jp80. BUT, I will never unde...

Well, it's really funny to see here the same three people who are insanely obsessed with Korg.
