Re: What synthesizers do you own?
Glad to hear so, Ron. I am pretty happy about what I have now, but I still miss the V-synth sometimes. It's such an unique and powerful instrument.

Re: Korg Wave Drum! I had no idea!
<t>yeah, it sounds quite amazing. I am a percussionist (in addition to synth player and pianist) so I will get one as soon as I have the budget. Can't wait! <br/> <br/> On a side note, I went to the local guitar center the other day, headed straight to the percussion department and asked to demo the...

Re: VP-7
well it seems that VP-7 is derived from VP-770, without the keyboard and the extra stuff. I have briefly owned VP-770 and I like the vocoder, but it is pretty expensive at $2000 USD. But at the same time, I am not sure if any other products in the market can do the same choral vocoding.

Re: Akai guys smoke the right weed!
oh turns out that they are both owned by Numark, Now the difference is that the iDiscover app has "more than 24 world-class sounds" instead of a synth app. Oh and the color of the keyboards of course.

Re: Akai guys smoke the right weed!
very cool, I have an ipod touch as well and I use it occasionally for live shows. It would be even cooler if it can eventually control other apps other than synth station. I wonder how this compares to the Ion Idiscover keyboard, which has a similar idea: http://www.itechnews.net/2010/01/12/ion-audi...

Re: Kurzweil PC3LE6
Musicfan,
this is cool, however it doesn't do sampling itself, it merely loads samples from previous K series and maybe WAV/AIF files as well. And it's probably going to cost $1,000 more just for that feature.

This portable PA/keyboard amp came out awhile ago and it looks really cool (lightweight, multiple channels and inputs, battery-powered for up to 10 hours, true stereo, decent price), but I have found no reviews on it. Has anybody tried using this?

Roland Mobile Cube
Anybody uses a mobile cube here?
I have one and I must say, it's really loud for its size. It's also FRFR so it takes on keyboard or synth sounds pretty well, though with not much bass response. It's awesome as a practice amp, sorta like a microcube for keyboards.

Re: Kurzweil PC3LE6
<t>frank, I think it's clear that PC3 would be better, hence the cheaper price and the "LE" in LE. Because of what the LE intend to do, to target another group of customer who can't afford a PC3 or who doesn't want to buy one for the price, there's a compromise to give up something for the lower pri...

Re: Akai MINIAK is Alesis Ion inside?
the miniak was co-developed by Akai and Alesis, both owned by Numark, it looks and sounds like a micron, which is based on the Ion. So, it wouldn't surprise me if they just use an ion/micron-like engine in an akai body, put a mic on it, and sell it as a new product.

Re: Kurzweil PC3LE6
the PC3LE6 sounds pretty good, with the USB host and drum pads, but it doesn't seem to have va-1 built-in? If that's the case, then maybe the regular PC3 is the better investment. I like the 76-key model anyways.

Re: Kurzweil K1000 power cord problem
Hi Sprockett,
thanks for the response! I used a cord that normally powers up a flat screen TV, and it works with the keyboard. It's probably a matter of voltage, but again, I am not an electronic savvy guy so I will just stick with whichever that works.

Kurzweil K1000 power cord problem
<t>Hi all, <br/> <br/> this question is for the owners of K1000, or anybody who is familiar with kurzweil synths. <br/> <br/> So I purchased an used kurzweil K1000 today, but it didn't come with a power cord (3 prong just like a normal computer ones). I have tried using a standard PC cord, and a pow...
