Re: Thinking of buying a Fantom G8 but these Motif XF8 guys

<t>As Kenchan said, we are only a small amount of time away from NAMM. You should hold off until you hear news from Rolands camp, as far as the future of the product or the introduction of another. No sense wasting your money on a product that you may be able to pick up for half the price in a month...

Re: Roland Customer Relationship

<t>mojkarma, if my sources are correct... you are getting exactly what you dont want in the next generation Roland machine. It seems they may be taking more hints from Open Labs than you would like. <br/> <br/> I understand your argument, but no need to make things up to prove your point. There is n...

Re: Best practices for realistic drumming sequences

<t>As kenchan said, you are making it way more difficult and time consuming than it has to be. You should loop record each section(verse, bridge and chorus) , as they generally wont change from verse to verse. So, just record the roll in your bridge or wherever you want it live within the loop. If y...

Re: Booting Up time

<t>Delete all patches that you arent using in your project. It may sound like a pain in the butt, but it is the only way I found around the long bootup times. <br/> <br/> Basically, what I said above gives you the bare essentials of your project and nothing more. Only the sounds that your songs use,...

Re: Roland Customer Relationship

<t>I agree with everything Jan said. While I came late in the game, after the G was released... I just felt as if the G was the keyboard that could have been. So many great ideas, that were getting better with OS updates... that just stopped. Sure, there is only so much they can do with OS updates, ...

Re: Electronic Drums

<r>I have an 18 piece TD-20 V Drum set and love it. You will never match the nuances you can capture with any electronic set over using keys. It also allows you to come home and take out a days frustrations. <E>:)</E> Definitely worth it, if you have the cash... just make sure you get a decent drum ...

Re: William Coakleys Grand Piano..Coming to the Fantom G

<r>Yea, I guess you are right, but I dont need anything right away. I really dig the feel of the G8, which is why I mentioned it. Again, I dont need anything for quite some time. It will take me some time to master the XXL. There are very few places around me that have 88 key boards in stock and on ...

Re: William Coakleys Grand Piano..Coming to the Fantom G

<t>"extreme... you sold your G? because it didn't have good pianos? can I ask what you are using now? " <br/> <br/> Yea, I hated to... but it was really limiting my creativity... Pianos are a staple in a lot of my music, without great piano sounds, I am like a bird in flight without wings... On top ...

Re: Roland Customer Relationship

<t>Being a former G owner, now on the outside looking in... I see it this way: <br/> <br/> Roland had a lot of great ideas with the G, but didnt think them out through the mind of a musician... all they needed to do with their sequencer, is look no further than Cakewalk or Pro Tools. Mimic what peop...

Re: William Coakleys Grand Piano..Coming to the Fantom G

This is good to hear... though... too little, to late for me. The Fantom is in dire need of some good piano sounds and I am glad for everyone else. I just couldnt wait any longer.

Someone post a song using these pianos, after they release. I would love to hear them.

Re: Getting song onto a disc

<t>Yea, you have to bounce it down to 2 tracks(stereo). That is, unless you just record the stereo out of the Fantom directly to your PC. Kind of a pain, but what else can you do? It would be nice if the Fantom had a mix down feature built in. As is, you have to sample it all down to a stereo track....

Re: Fantom G continues

"On Leno last night Christina Aguilera's keyboardist was playing a Roland. He was using a very nice sounding piano"

That statement right there confirms it wasnt a G. :) Either that, or it was a G, controlling a software piano.
