Re: Another Classic name used for a crap synth
My first impressions of the Jupiter 80 were, to be honest, not that great. However I did a bit of research and watched some of the demo videos of the Jupiter 80 and must say it's sounds impressed me a great deal. I think Roland are on the right track with their modeling technology. I was disappointe...

Re: The Circuit Symphony SH-201 Custom Bank Videos
<t>here here, Synth_Lover is right, this synth is great but so many people shun before even playing it. It annoys me because it is so good. Many of my friends are so blinded by korg's huge feature set and flashing lights, they forget the reason they look at VA in the first place. Whilst I like other...

Re: Tom Sawyer
Tony,
Yeah Its down to personal taste really, I think it sounds more accurate with the 12db filters. However I don't actually think Geddy used a minimoog for that lead, as far as I know (and I might be mistaken) he used an oberheim.
Cheers

Re: CS-80 Sounds For the SH-201
You should be able to figure that one out from my description, that's the main sound people seem to want, though personally l prefer the ring mod lead from blade runner blues. just have that as your upper patch, and have a pad on the bottom and you should be fine.

Re: Tom Sawyer
<t>Hi Crimsonian, <br/> If you are still looking for that growl sound, here is how I got mine. <br/> 2 Saw waves, octave apart, tune the highest one down 1 notch. Set the mix to equal, set the low frequency to cut. Have a low pass filter, 12db, cutoff at 2:30, resonance at 11. No Keyfollow. In the a...

Re: CS-80 Sounds For the SH-201
Crimsonian, I have vista 64bit, hence my SH201 does not have USB drivers, hence I cannot transfer my SH201 sounds onto the computer. =P
ie. I can't upload them.

<t>Hey Guys, <br/> Sorry about the delay in replies. Been pretty hectic these last few weeks. <br/> I don't have a video camera, or a non-vista pc so I cannot upload my patches. Sorry. But. <br/> I'll give you a brief overview of how I went about making my patches. <br/> First Off. These sounds soun...

Re: Fantom G6 or Fantom X6
Thanks Rodan, do you know if you can change the keyboard range on each layer on the X?

Re: Fantom G6 or Fantom X6
<t>Hey everyone, Thanks for the responses. <br/> I just wondered if the X (as its unclear in the manual) can layer more than 2 sounds together. I know the G can do 8 (to the best of my knowledge) so that you can have a layer of 8 different instruments and control the keyboard cover of each layer. I ...

Re: Fantom G6 or Fantom X6
Hey Zephyer, I'm afraid you are incorrect about your statement about Roland's competitors not having organ models, The motif X series have a modeled organ, as does the Kurzweil PC3 series which I considered seriously for a while but decided against it because the Display was pitiful. I'm not sure ab...

CS-80 Sounds For the SH-201
<t>Hello fellow SH-201 users, <br/> I have (after many hours) created some very convincing (Well in my opinion anyway) Vangelis style Yamaha CS-80 sounds. I know its impossible to get the analog richness of the CS-80, but after hours and literally countless hours of tiny adjustments I have created a...

Re: Fantom G6 or Fantom X6
<r>Zephyer I can assure you that I have not been a member of this forum under any other name. Alas budget is a big issue for me, and having done some more research and discovering the HUGE!!!! import taxes my country charges for items over 1000. I might have to settle for the X, Unless I can find a ...
