Re: Saving Axial sounds
Yeah that's what you're supposed to do if you follow the instructions it should show you how to copy the patches to user memory. However!!! ...If they're EXP downloads (expansion banks) then you can only load them into one of 2 slots at at time, and if you copy the onboard EXP presets to user tones ...

Re: FA-08 sustain pedal
You can use generic sustain pedals, and as above, get one with a polarity switch and you're good, most generics come with the switch anyway.

Re: Laptop Stands For FA-06
Can't you just use a two tier keyboard stand?
I have two laptop stands that i use for mixer and ableton push, and the FA would definitely sit on them, but it's not ideal if you want to angle the FA as it would risk slipping down - even if you put some non-slip matting underneath.

Re: Logistical Question - slightly OT
The only question would be what you require from the sampling capabilities, if it's playback of sampled instruments you cannot do that with the FA. (i.e. playing a sample across the keyboard). If it's for wav/mp3 files playback then it's good for that. The other option may be a MOXF-8, that's very g...

The MFX, and Send levels saves to the part.
But the actual global Chorus/Reverb/EQ saves to the studio set.

Re: Part mute abrupt
I thought there was a disable option in the part view somewhere? I'm not near my FA to check, but i'm sure there's something other than mute (Which you're correct is an 'audio' thing). The other big issue with that mute is that the polyphony is still being used by each part, even when muted, of cour...

Re: Sustain pedal in combination with FA and A-PRO
I use a sustain pedal on an external controller and it operates just as the FA pedals does, no different - in fact, most of the time i don't know which one i'm pressing as they sit besides each other.

Re: Hooking up my FA-06 with a small notebook....
lol, it's easy man, you've got two great resources with this and the Reaper forums if you need any help. And of course you can PM me if you get stuck. Currently had serious issues with my work windows machine today though, and lost about 7 hours work, only now got it running how it should and it's g...

Re: Hooking up my FA-06 with a small notebook....
What you're best to do is let REAPER do all the leg work in terms of splits and channel assignments. So yes, set FA to Midi Local to Off, that way nothing will be triggered locally. Then, if you wanted to create a sound that had 2 layers of FA and one VST, you create three tracks and set their key r...

Re: Hooking up my FA-06 with a small notebook....
Well it depends how you're using it, if you're using it live then yes you just balance using the controls in the SS for FA, and in Reaper for VST side of things. If you're recording audio into reaper, of course the mixing will be done in REAPER itself. I'm not near my FA at the moment, but i'm sure ...

Re: Hooking up my FA-06 with a small notebook....
Hi stranger! :) Much depends on the software you're using - presuming that you're running windows you'll be using ASIO drivers? I believe that the input and output device MUST be the same for most DAW's, so yes, the FA sounds and VSTi's that you use will go out via the same outputs - which will be t...

Re: FA 06 connecting to mainstage
If it's still not working then the next step is to go to Applications/Utilities/Audio Midi Setup on your mac to see if the devices are showing up in there. If they are, then turn off your FA and delete them, restart Mac and hopefully it will refind them and install. Check Audio Midi Setup after you'...

Re: FA 06 connecting to mainstage
USB Vendor setting requires the Roland driver to be installed on your computer, have you done that first? i.e.:- http://my.roland.com/support/by_product/fa-08/updates_drivers/351012 You only really need to use vendor mode if you want to use the FA as an audio interface, otherwise i'd stick to generi...

Re: Organization mayhem
You are also limited to a certain number of files in a folder too i believe, as i thought i could load up a load of drum samples and assign to a pad to create my own drum machines, but it didn't read all the files. Can't remember what the limit was though. One workaround is to prefix all the files, ...

Re: Controlling FA08 with Roland FC-300
I don't use that feature, but as far as i'm aware there's a Studio Set Control channel setting in the settings on the FA - and you need to make sure that the FC is sending the pedals on this MIDI channel - i believe it's 16 by default. If that doesn't help, there's several people here who do use tha...
