I've had to put a length of wood under the back end of my FA (i.e. across the stand) to tilt it forwards when it sat a little higher than normal.

Not a great longterm solution though, and not ideal for your playing hands either if too much of an angle.

Possible you have a ground loop, are you powering the iPad via a splitter when you connect the USB? If so, that could be the culprit.
