Re: Analog Rules.

<r>Like Artemiy said. Incidentally, the SH101 has quite a punchy sound compared to other Roland analog synths - because it uses Curtis chips, just as the Dave Smith and Oberheim synths do. Aaaah. To have the best of both worlds - I got my MKS-50 (Alpha Juno) for sweet pads, and the Dave Smith Instru...

Analog Rules.

<t>After owning/playing/programming the Gaia for the past few months, I took the dusty old MKS-50 out of the closet. The sound murdered the Gaia in punch, life, fluidity, sparkle, fat bass and dynamic sound. 3 layers and 64 polyphony is nice, but in the end if someone is looking for quality sound fi...

Supersaw on Pop Tunes

In the past few months, supersaw chordal use has been rising to become prominent on quite a few top 100 tunes, particularly club/r&b. Amazing how today there's a rennaisance of supersaw use, but used more for chords than rave-type melodies. What a sweet sound - nice work Roland!

And Artemiy works with Roland, so what we're saying is true.

GAIA Improvement Suggestions - FIRMWARE UPDATE

<t>We'd like to forward some suggestions to Roland for the Gaia, on behalf of the Gaia Users Group of Los Angeles/Dallas/New York, as a possible firmware update: <br/> <br/> 1 - To add an option for per oscillator drift, aka analog slop - slight natural detuning like analog synths - would be a very ...

Re: The GAIA SH-01 sounds fantastic

The Gaia is not overpriced - $699 is a steal for what you get - 64 voices, triple stacked synth with fantastic sound quality and effects, and the construction is very solid compared to the SH201. Just my 2 bits. :)

Re: SH01 - fabulous - but - No Chorus??

Yes, it's nice to have the 2 options. I'll have to try them together to get a stacked chorusing effect! I do think Roland should have labelled it chorus/flanger as well.

Re: Gaia Synth engine:same of sh-201 or new one?

It's a different engine; listen to the SH201 sound snippets vs the Gaia ones and you'll hear the difference. The Gaia is gentler on the ears, although the 201 has a rawness some people like.

Re: PCM Sound Generator

So this gives access to only 8 PCM GM sounds - what about the other PCM sounds? Anyone know if they can be played from the Gaia?

Re: GAIA get KEYBUY award on keyboardmag

<t>Whew, Artemiy, you do have a "healthy" ego, that's for sure. Too bad, because your views are valid, but your delivery of them needs work. I can see this has become a typical "I'm right, you're wrong" flame post, so I won't be adding to or visiting this thread any longer. <br/> <br/> FYI anyone ot...

Re: GAIA get KEYBUY award on keyboardmag

<t>Artemiy, you're wrong on all points. Just kidding - a tit for a tat! I'm sure face to face you wouldn't be so bold in repeating "Sorry, you're wrong" to folks when they state their opinions. But such is the nature of humans communicating on the internet. That said, your points are well taken, and...
