Re: D50 and aftertouch does not work ?

I have noticed that only certain patches use the after touch facility. Also, you need to push the aftertouch slider fully up. The patch "A D A M" demonstrates the difference in sound quite well, when you push the key a little harder. There are probably other patches that sound better, it's...

Is this a wind up? I think so.

Re: arpeggio from Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf"

Why don't you post a youtube link with a time when the patch gets played. Then it is easier for everyone to know what sound you are trying to emulate.

Besides, the Gaia seems one of the easiest synths to program a sound. Have you tried yourself?

Thanks Jim,

That's reassuring and makes me feel more confident about upgrading.

Re: Stand

A Heavy Duty 2 or 3 Tier synth stand, from sound lab would probably do the trick. I am using two at the moment for various synths and the height adjustment is excellent. Amazon stock them.

Re: JP 8000 version update

No response, so perhaps no-one can remember the reason for the update in the operating system.
What I would hate to do, is carry out the update and then find that I hit problems.

Any one else had any experience installing this update?

Re: I think the JP-8000 is way more fun than the Jupiter 80

I got into playing around with va synths, because I bought a Gaia sh-01 for a musical project. Because it is so easy to use, I started to understand how to quickly program the type of sounds that I wanted. Celtic ambient stuff, requiring lush pads. I become hooked and then bought a Jp8000 from ebay ...

Re: JP-8000 added to my setup! ? About output level

Thanks for the link. Looking at that circuit diagram, it appears that the headphone output goes through an additional amplifier chip. I guess that is why there is more volume. Maybe a headphone splitter cable, with some 1/4 adapters would save any soldering onto the circuit board. For anyone who doe...

Plenty of excellent patches can be found on the web. Great to be able to learn a few ideas from others.

Re: JP-8000 added to my setup! ? About output level

I haven't noticed a lower volume from the audio outputs. Although, I only have an old Korg M1 to compare it too. All my other gear is Roland, and about the same output level.

What's the mod, you talk about?

JP 8000 version update

I recently bought a JP8000 via ebay and it came with version 1.03.
Can anyone advise what the advantage would be to update to version 1.05.
Particularly, as some users appear to have had problems updating.

Cheers

Re: GAIA users forum

I have added some free patches on the Gaia users forum and a sample track.
Using Grauw's editor to save a new arpeggiator pattern along with a new patch.

Re: adding power on patches

Try using the 'Pitch Shifter', that can add a little extra amount of volume.

Excellent Grauw, can't wait for that version. I'm running out of spare usb memory sticks.
