Re: I modulated too hard... :(

Thanks for the info! It certainly does look a lot more sturdy. That said, i'm gonna leave mine the way it is, I much prefer it to be like an on/off switch.

Re: Just built wireless MIDI into my AX Synth

I did, thanks. I've got some spare time next week, so i'm going to have a look then. What does the manual say about it? Or is that classified info? I did a gig last night sitting down, and not being able to see the volume knob was a quite a hassle so I am looking to do this mod soon. Yeh it's the br...

Re: Just built wireless MIDI into my AX Synth

Did you get hold of a service manual then?

That's a really good mod, how's it working out for you? Certainly has got me thinking about doing the same with my audio wireless unit...

Re: Talk Box

Best thing for that, would be to just get a talk-box! Electro Harmonix have a guitar-vocoder pedal that I was looking at getting. I think the closest you could get, would be to put a wah on your sound, and have maybe the ribbon-strip or aftertouch knob affecting the filter. That way you could contro...

Re: AX Synth Editor help

The volume comes out of the ax-synth I do believe. Plug in some headphones and you should be able to hear your edits

Re: I modulated too hard... :(

As luck would have it, my fix kinda failed and it sticks down when I press it. I so much prefer that. I think it's a learning process though. I remember doing solos for instance in jump on the oberheim sound, and then rushing my left hand round to play a bass note, and accidentally flicking the swit...

Re: A question/thought about ATT

Ok, so I had to open my synth up the other day for some minor repairs, and I took a pic of the att set-up.: http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e215/captaincowhouse/IMAG0157.jpg Can anyone shed some light on what resistor I might need in order to have less of a boost? Another thing I was thinking abou...

Re: I modulated too hard... :(

Yeh, It's weird; I opened up and fixed the mod bar with some super-glue and fire, and I actually miss the broken one! It was indeed broken in the same way as yours, and I miss being able to just wack it on when i'm playing organ and not have to keep my hand on it. Might have to open up again and bre...

Shoe sustain pedal

So, i've had this idea for quite a while, about making a small, thin sustain button, that could be in my shoe, with the wire running down my leg. Basically, it all stems from having a wireless, and wanting to be able to play some piano-ey stuff, when not routed to one spot on stage. It could all wor...

Re: A question/thought about ATT

That's a genius idea! Might take out the portamento switch, cos' I never use it.

I think from having opened up the synth before, it's a two resistor jobby, nothing fancy. Just need to find out which resistors they are, and which one I need to put in for less of a volume gap.

Re: A question/thought about ATT

I did think about that and do some research, but the problem with that solution is, I use a wireless pack and like to go roaming, and want to be able to switch volume wherever I am. I thought about getting them and putting them into the ax-synth, but they're all powered by 9v, and i'm already chargi...

Re: A question/thought about ATT

That does make sense, but a lot of the time, I want to boost for a piano solo or organ solo, and I don't want to have the same patch saved twice, one for rhythm playing and one for solo. And generally, even with a solo sound that already had a boost on, I still have a volume boost aswell.

A question/thought about ATT

I'm not really knowledgable when it comes to electronics (although that doesn't stop me from trying), and I had a thought about mod-ing the ATT switch. At the moment, it's quite a big volume difference when you turn it on/off. I was wondering if by changing the resistor (?), you could lessen that ga...
