Keyboard Switch Groups should solve your problem. For any given Scene with all the Zones you use, set the Pad Mode to Kbd Sw Group (#7). You can then assign one or multiple Zones to be "active" at any given time and the others to be inactive to a specific pad. Do this for all of your Zones...

No way to check but if you have to go through them rename the ones using SRX with 'SRX' at the end of the title like the expansion patches do.

Yes, you can absolutely do it that way (as you have found out) on a Windows machine. I used to move samples around all the time doing that and also moved songs back and forth as well.

You could also set a Zone with a volume of 0. Make that the default Zone and then you can add remove as you want with the remaining Zones. As XP30 points out, this will still use up polyphony.

I've never formatted a single one I've used with the Fantom and never had an issue. Certainly it's guaranteed to work if you do it with the Fantom but it is not required. Just ensure you are formatting to FAT32.
