Re: Jupiter-80 Hate

I don't know why you guys even worry about the hate towards the JP80,its obvious from the onset that most of the crap posted about the JP80 is the same type of dribble that was floating around towards the Oasys when it came onto the scene, most of those dorks who slammed it,saying its an overpriced T...

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?

The Japanese manufacturers are what killed off popularity for the masters like Bob Moog and ARP miminalist companies etc, they turned niche instruments into manufacturing do it all blackboxes in the thousands, mass produced, low cost, flooding the market, that will come full circle eventually with all th...

Re: Do we need a new workstation or Firmware 2.0

I'm not waiting for a newer generation Workstation!nor do roland need to release another one, surely its not going to be financially viable to them now after how the G was handled surely its lost them the love for Roland. The Fantom is as relevant still as it was when released, just update the damn th...

Re: When will ROLAND release their next Workstation ?

Can we not get a petition going to try and awaken Roland's interest to continue the Fantom G's OS!!! Its still on there homepage as a current instrument so why can't they at least offer some kind of updates, surely they are more than aware of some tweaks it needs!or do the decent thing and list it as...

Re: It arrives this morning...!!!

@Devnor I'm not asking for the threads to have no other content than praise for the Jupiter or simply only mentioning that Synth its inevitable that synth forums are always going to drift around other machines or brands from time to time,There is nothing wrong with that, and there's nothing wrong wit...

Re: It arrives this morning...!!!

Thanks for bitching but you aren't exactly contributing to the Jupiter discussion either..... I haven't contributed in this forum, mainly because I have no hands on experience of the synth other than a few shop demos,I have been researching my purchase before commiting, but have been reading with gre...

Re: It arrives this morning...!!!

I Love this RolandClanforum.. I read this thread in the hope to hear some JP80 talk Whilst its understandable some have other synths in their rig but.... Yet again another discussion about ROLAND synths seems to drift off towards the Fecking Kronos and its Lame Build or quality issues. The Fantom G ...

Re: Such a shame...but I still love my Fantom...

I'm curious to know why Roland dropped support for it???? Its still their only current workstation, and its a few years old now,I know they've got the JP80 to parade about, but there different beasts! I got my G6 last year,so am a late comer to it,but after using many workstation brands over the years...

Re: Howard Jones Live Set with Fantom G8 and much more! (vid

Cool video. Yes the G is a workhorse! I tried those novation controllers as my main keyboard when I was software only, but the G is much better. Live I still think a real board is better for players. The G works well in larger setups. Funny he's not using the Jupiter-80 to replace the Jupiter-8. Wo...

Re: RPS + SYSEX = Awesome!

the FG has a lot of power under the hood when you get into it! Yes. And the sad thing is,most people prefer to bitch about what it doesn't do or its lack of Roland support as opposed to using what it has, which is a great set of tools both for a composer and a performer, for the first time is such a ...

Re: Fantom a complete distraction

Like any artform, songwriting(or at least seeing something through to the end) is as much about discipline as it is inspiration. I have a large setup of gear, which cause plenty of distractions, but write exclusively with just a Stage piano and Pen/paper and a Multitrack recorder, once I've got a few so...

Re: So was it good for you?

Have you looked at sales figures for workstations? I think the decline is very obvious, despite the fact that there are those who still want all in one solutions. As for Roland, when they announced the Jupiter, they explicitly said they wanted to get away from making workstations. It was a direct s...

Re: sequencing multiple synths

Yes,the Fantom can run 16 external midi channels/Devices via the Midi out as well as its own internal 16 timbres and Expansion tracks and 24 Audio tracks. With such a great seqeuncer on board, not sure why you would want to use an external device for such a task, unless you have something better like ...
