Is the EXZ basically the same as the SRX?

Does anyone know if an EXZ expansion is basically the same as the corresponding SRX instrument in terms of sound quality, patches and waveforms? For example, is the EXZ Symphonic Strings the same as the SRX Strings? The reason why I'm asking is I want the "Strings" expansion but don't real...

Re: Very limited AMP evelope settings...

The Fantom amp envelop is highly configurable. I don’t know what the OP is complaining about.

Does Roland do a sale??

I like the 5080 and the Juno-106 plugins. Has Roland ever done a sale?

Are Knobs & Sliders Assignable?

Are knobs and sliders MIDI CC assignable on the MC-707? I want to know if I could use it to control various parameters of soft synths.

Re: What's different Fantom and Jupiter?

I've been on the fence on which one to buy, but from what I understand, the Fantom will eventually have the ability to emulate all the synths currently onboard with the Jupiter X. Roland's CEO hasn't said anything about that. It's not clear if the Fantom currently has ABM capabilities. Moreover, it...

Re: Anyone regretting about getting the XM over the X?

A desktop version similar to the Novation Peak would be ideal.

Re: Anyone regretting about getting the XM over the X?

It'll be a tough decision for me. I just need to keep visiting a music store to compare the two on many different occasions.

Anyone regretting about getting the XM over the X?

I know I'll buy a Jupiter-X(m), but I really don't know whether to buy the X or the xm. I will use it only at my home studio. So, the xm makes a more sense for me (I have other great feeling keyboards to drive the xm, so the mini keys wouldn't be an issue). However, the X looks just so darn good. Th...

Re: RD-88 Piano

There's a supplementary document about how to install EXZ wave expansions into the RD-88. So shouldn't it have EXZ wave expansion slots? But it's not clear whether the 88 has more than one slot. It comes with EXZ 001. It's confusing.

Multiple Roland synths as USB audio interfaces.

Can multiple Roland synths serve as independent USB audio interfaces via Roland drivers? For example, if I connect a FA-08, a Jupiter-Xm and a D-05 via USB cables to a computer and install Roland drivers, will my DAW see each of them as an independent audio interface? Or, would I be better off buyin...

Does the RD-88 have any expansion slots like the Jupiter-X(m)?

Re: How fast is the LFO rate?

Thanks. It sounds like (also based on what you had written before) a traditional LFO whose rate maxes out around 20 Hz. That's undestandable because I don't think any Roland synth was capable of audio rate LFO modulation.

Re: How fast is the LFO rate?

Thanks. Here's a simple way to test as far as I'm concerned. When you have the LFO modulate filter cutoff, can you get a sound like an insect buzzing around? If so, the LFO rate is fast enough.

My guess is the LFO rate cannot go very high. Can an XM owner answer?

How fast is the LFO rate?

One thing I don't like about the SN-S is a slow LFO rate. Even at 127 the LFO cannot do very snappy modulation. How fast can the LFO rate be on the Jupiter-X(m)? Can the LFO have audio rates?
