Re: JD-08 Potential MIDI Bug

I just wrote Roland about the issue where there is an initialized type sound on MIDI channels 4 & 5 that you cannot access nor turn off. It is annoying while trying tho integrate the JD-08 with my other hardware MIDI devices. It really seems like the JD-08 is half-baked in that area. Thank you ...

Re: JD-08 Potential MIDI Bug

If it is fixed on one, it will be fixed on another, it is exactly why both are broken in the same way. They both share the same firmware. [/quote] and no one anywhere in any video reviews I have come across ever goes into depth on these kinds of things which is frustrating. I have been using Roland...

Re: JD-08 Potential MIDI Bug

I just got a JD-08 and one of the first things after upgrading the firmware to 1.02 was changing the MIDI channel settings on the device. I set the general channel to 11, Part A to 12 and Part B to 13 . While the synth receives and plays back incoming notes on those channels accordingly, I also not...

Re: Cosmetic defect on new Jupiter X.

Is the bigger Jupiter-X made? Is it China and not Japan? I had a Jupiter-80 which was built in Japan and it was excellent in built quality and quality control. I sold it when I got my System-8 because of synthesis/sounds. The System-8 is not made in Japan and is inferior in build quality (shorter ke...

The JD-08 is fine because that was digital anyway but the JX-08, yeah, a bit of a let down.

Re: Jupiter-X VA engine

What is ABM and what does it stand for? Analog Behavior Modeling — the name Roland chose for the new analog models in the Jupiter-X/Xm. Details in this interview with Roland’s CEO about the Jupiter-X . Thanks. I ended up getting a Jupiter-Xm and figured out what it means. Sadly, I was not impressed...

Re: TR8S - missing song mode?

I think you've hit the nail on the head there, Tarekith. The problem with it being designed as a live performance device is that in reality most musicians (unless they are drummers/percussionists of course) do not have the time to nurse it through a performance. They are busy playing their synths, ...

Re: Tr8s died, didn’t even make it 6 months

Sorry to hear about that. You’re correct about Roland’s customer service and warranty policy. I have an SH-01A with a defective ribbon controller. They haven’t got back to me yet and it’s been a month. I’m done with Roland and I’ll stick with Behringer from now on. They’re warranty is 3 years, part...

Re: The Magic of the Jupiter 80!

It is a fabulous and inspiring layering and performance synth. 80 is the true number of the Beast. So few are aware of that. The Beast is a master of disguise, hiding under an innocent, spartanic exterior. If only they knew... Then the control ladened Jupiter-X comes out..."Hold my beer!"...

Mr. M, did u refer to me? If you did, gotta say, ur writing maybe had some mis-points. However, I wasnt the thread starter, nor did I say I dont like something. Just stating things that users seem to say and acknowledge overall. Its a very good board subjectivily saying. I thought he was referring ...
