Re: Max Smartmedia Card Size for JP-8080?
I think I may have answered my own question. I don't believe the 16MB cards, as previously mentioned, are 5 volt cards. They may be 3.3V, which won't work.

Max Smartmedia Card Size for JP-8080?
The manual states that the JP-8080 can use an optional memory card (S2M-5 at 2MB, or S4M-5 at 4MB). Is 4MB the maximum size? Anyone try and successfully use a larger card? I see some 16MB Smartmedia cards for sale these days for a bit less money. Perhaps these won't work though.

Re: TR-8 kit saving?
ADDITIONAL INFO: A bi-directional M4L device exists (http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/3221/tr-8-bidirectional) where it will receive and set all soft-knobs to the position to which the hardware knobs are moved. Keep in mind that the hardware knobs must still be "twiddled." A snapsh...

Re: TR-8 kit saving?
The more I try to incorporate the TR-8 in a studio environment, the more it fails and becomes a PITA. This is my opinion, of course, but it's very difficult for me to implement it to behave like a normal synth with the ability to save/recall "patches." Knob positions should have been inclu...

V-Synth XT Rackmount Question...
Hey fellas! Looking to mount my V-Synth in a rack, and it will reside near the bottom. Therefore I want to utilize the tilt feature. V-Synth XT manual states, "A vacant rack space immediately above is required in order to utilize the V-Synth XT's rotation feature." Now, does this mean the ...

Try an online shop like JRRShop. That's where I bought my 7X7 Expansion.

Re: Tr-8 Trouble
Firmware v1.5 is the latest update. My TR-8 is running v1.50. This may or may not be correct, but I believe Scatter only works on the main outputs.

Re: TR 8 Issue with Ableton under Windows 7
As of the most recent OS (firmware) update to the TR-8, audio-over-USB is NOT possible unless you make the TR-8 your default audio interface. This was poor implementation of the TR-8's USB from the get-go, and it continues to be a SEVERE shortcoming of the device. Essentially, the TR-8 does not inpu...

Re: Help using a tr-8 in Ableton as an audio interface
Sorry for this late and unhelpful reply, but my advice is to buy a real audio interface. Roland seriously screwed up when they designed the TR-8's audio-over-USB function. It's the worst decision I've seen in a modern-day synthesizer/audio device in a long time.

Thanks for the tips! I'll give it some effort. I must ask, however, how do I put the comb filter (COSM) after the delay effect?

Looking to Program This Sound
I need help programming a particular sound. Hopefully there are some programming gurus out there that can help me. In fact, I may post more than one sound/patch. Overall, I am decent at programming patches, whether it's on the V-Synth, the Virus TI, or another synth. So if a particular sound/patch m...

Re: V-Synth vs. JP-8080? Worth a Purchase?
Just my 2 cents: I think you should look elsewhere, maybe it is time to look at the MOOG? Little phatty are pretty affordable (used) now that they've been replaced by the sub phatty. This will get you something different that is definitevely not covered with what you already have. Well, here's an u...
