Re: N/ZYME - can't decide

n/zyme is the first expansion that Roland owners must pay, and it's not cheap thinking how much a Fantom costs. On the other hand, it's an uncommon synth engine that can deliver unexpected results either good or barely unusable. Perhaps it's the most interesting part of a Fantom, even tough its a li...

Re: Roland cloud Pro: soundpacks?

Hi all, I bought every soundpack for my Fantom until number 100. After that they increased the price to 9,99 which I find absurd after buying a 3k+ synth. With a Roland Cloud subscription it says soundpack's are included. Will I be able to install those on my Fantom? Or are these soundpacks only fo...

Re: n/zyme questions

Unfortunately there's no way to try n-zyme before you buy it. Same said for extra Tones bank (100+ 4,99 USD each) I bought and the overall quality is quite disappointing... but i realized it only after having installed them into my Fantom 7. I bought n-zyme and I think it's a very interesting soud e...

Re: SDZ Pack Price Hike

I bought the entire SDZ list, from 001 to 100 at full price and now I realise that I could have spent half the money. I would buy also SDZ 101 and 102, but when I saw the price has raised by ten times... I thought I was fed up of being screwed over by Roland.

Re: Pianoteq

I bought Pianoteq in 2014 and upgraded to the latest version. This software is amazing and can't be compared with the piano timbres that can be obtained with a Roland Fantom, V Piano included. I can count on 10 different acoustic piano models and it's a great pleasure moving from a model to another....

Re: Why is the D50 being ignored for the Fantom?

IMHO Roland has no interest in developing a Model Bank for D-50 because they actually offer its virtual counterpart via Roland Cloud. Other alternatives are D-05, if avaliable or still the old and faithful D-50 and D-550. Same said for the JD-800 which is already present as a virtual instrument or, ...

Re: Old software versions for Fantom

Thank you for your replies! I sent my Fantom for warranty repair, the main board needed to be replaced. Before the repair OS 2.5 was installed and I had the model expansions installed. After 8 weeks I received the synth and OS 3.0 is now installed. But now it is impossible to install the model expa...

Thanks for your support.
What leaves me speechless is that on dedicated Facebook groups I’m made fun of my proposal.

A Fantom librarian is essential

Aside from editing Tones (Zen Core, Model etc.) I feel somewhat lost when I try to reorganise, move, copy or erase them. Especially after having imported all 100 SDZ sound sets and the 9 ones for Model Banks, I'm simply stuck because I would make an accurate selection of the Tones I like and get rid...

But thanks all and especially to wave :)
Don’t mention it, mate! 😉
This issues happen also to other Fantom owners, unfortunately. I read from an Italian forum that the incorrect license issue happened again.
We should be more demanding with such expensive instruments.

Re: bad customer support

I won't throw petrol on fire, but I had an awful experience with Roland Tech Support. I'm located in Italy and own a Fantom 7 since an year ago. I encountered some issues attempting to install SDZ sound sets I bought the relevant Lifetime keys. I immediately got a "Incorrect License" error...

Re: MIDI Program Change?

Hi everyone, I recently bought a second JX-03 in order to get 8 voices polyphony via Chaining Mode. Both have been updated to firmware 1.21 and set to the same MIDI channel (channel 1). Everything is working fine with one exception : even though playing with the controls like VCF cutoff or LFO spee...

Re: User Tones Bank Select messages

Thanks a lot lutefiasco, I also found the author who, luckily, uses Digital Performer like me. I dropped him a line asking for help. Hope he'll reply one day... finger crossed. This isn't my work, but I don't seem to have noted down where I found it (my apologies to the person whose work it is!): Ze...
