Well done! Thanks for posting back and sharing and as you say, it's often the simplest things we overlook :)

Re: Roland Juno DS88 USB Audio?

Certainly you should be able to use midi however if there is no XP driver this may affection functionality to some extent. I think it depends on what your trying to do?

Re: Roland Juno DS88 USB Audio?

If your using Windows XP I think that is probably not helping. As far as I am aware there are no Juno DS drivers for Windows XP. Also have you updated the firmware on your DS to 1.06? I'm not sure when that was released but there are quite a few changes in it. Again there are no Windows XP drivers f...

Re: Roland Juno DS88 USB Audio?

It seems not and it's a real shame because the DS is a great keyboard. Unfortunately the DS88 I was using was on loan from Roland for a review so I had to reluctantly send it back. I'm just surprised that when I raised the issue with them they didn't try to find out what was causing it or reply to m...

Re: Roland Juno DS88 USB Audio?

I never did find a solution to this problem so like hugh I would still be interested to hear from anyone who solved it, never had the problem or knows if it is something that was never fixed?

Re: Roland Juno DS88 USB Audio?

I have it hooked up to Mackie Traktion at the moment. I can see the audio is going in but not getting anything out of my monitors. Must be missing something. With the MOXF you don't actually need any software. It works as your computers audio in/out for everything so you can play on the keyboard and...

Re: Roland Juno DS88 USB Audio?

Thanks for that. I did try again but no luck.

I do have a section for the DS61, DS88 and XPS30 over on my own forum however as we are not 'Roland' specific it may not get the same traffic as it would on here. Still, useful to have though :)

Re: Roland Juno DS88 USB Audio?

Still no luck with it unfortunately, although I did notice the other day when using headphones that sound is coming "in" to the keyboard from the mac so half the audio interface is at least doing something. What I don't get is, when I had the Yamaha MOXF which also has a usb audio/midi int...

Roland Juno DS88 USB Audio?

Got the Roland Juno DS88 a few days ago and seem to be having an issue getting the audio via usb working. didn't see a section for the DS on the forum so thought I would ask here. I have the Roland driver installed. Have set the keyboard to use 'vendor' rather than generic but still can't get it to ...

Re: JUNO-Gi vs MOX6 - Can someone help me choose!

Nice to see someone actually going through the sounds for a change. Often there is a lot of talk in videos and very little to showcase the sounds...which after all is what most of us are interested in these days? So, I think there is something there for everyone. It does sound very "Roland"...

Re: JUNO-Gi vs MOX6 - Can someone help me choose!

Yeah I just posted about the Roland FA on my site. Looks like an interesting keyboard, similar to the Fantom G in many respects and in terms of price it's not much more than the Gi but you get a LOT more for you money. Very glad to hear you held off there jimmy :) Will be very interested to hear you...

Re: JUNO-Gi vs MOX6 - Can someone help me choose!

Yeah you see it's the sound editing that get's a lot of people. It's hard to get your head around Roland's reasons for limiting the Gi in this respect. I never could and although I would not describe myself as a sound designer, I do like to have the freedom to create and manipulate sounds and unfort...

Re: JUNO-Gi vs MOX6 - Can someone help me choose!

Yes the Gi is certainly fairly easy to use and if as you say your not into editing then it is a great keyboard. I liked the sounds on it and preferred them over the Yamaha MOX which I had previously and I know it's a small thing but I also think the Gi looks fantastic ;)

Re: JUNO-Gi vs MOX6 - Can someone help me choose!

I felt that way about the korg m50 too. Have had it for 3 years, but could not master it. Have you had any problems with Yamaha or Roland? I had a M50 for a while and found I could get around without recourse to the manual but then I am a big fan of the way Korg do things and I find the touch inter...

Re: JUNO-Gi vs MOX6 - Can someone help me choose!

I think you highlighted the biggest issue with the MOX and many Yamaha keyboards come to that. For some reason they always make what should be a simple task, overly complicated. Their user interface has always been the worst out of the big three.
