Re: Uptimes and downtimes

meanwhile, whilst my website is has been up and down like a yoyo.

I will be moving to a more reliable host (I hope) sometime next week. Paying a bit more money, but for someone who is unlikely to be gone tomorrow. (this is the 2nd host that has gone bust on me)

Re: layering

<t>The simple thing you probably are not doing is switching to performance mode

You then have 16 parts which (basically) line up to 16 tracks.

You select the patch (sound) you want for each part in the performance.
Then select a part, and record that into the corresponding...

It isn't a manual as such.

Surely it makes sense to read that first (it won't take you long), then ask questions if you have a problem or are confused about a particular point.

Perhaps then, you could also be more specific abou...

Re: changing a patch or ryhthm set for each track in a song?

<t>because the tracks are all using the same MIDI channel?

There is no relationship between a track in a sequence and a part in a performance.

The relationship is actually the MIDI channel.

i.e. the Track contains events for a MIDI Channel
And a part in the perf...

Re: When I was young...

<r>The prize for the most mystical beast to program (IMHO) had to be Yahama FM synths like the DX7. Not only was it complex to understand how FM worked, but you had to program it all through a small display. I, like many others at the time, loved the sound though.

However, this complexity...

<t>the original analog synths with no presets also forced you to be very creative too.
