Can the sampler be used to mold different articulations for instruments on the SRX-06?

Can SRX Expansion Boards sounds be tinkered with in the same fashion,using the synth/sampler, as the stock sounds in the Fantom?And still be saved to the Fantom Registry?
This might make a good entry for the FAQ.
