Re: Roland V-Synth GT vs. Access Virus TI
<r>"Someone else on the Korg forums mentioned that his friends can't tell the difference between the "classic" patches from the Virus from a real Moog, Oberheim, or whatever. I agree, those "classic" Virus patches are truly impressive."<br/> <br/> Hmmm - why Im I not surprised by this?<br/> <br/> Wh...
Re: SH-201
<r>I cant say that I have ever though of the V-Synths VA, or the SH-201 as an 'analog modeling' synth - Im not even sure that it really tries to be beyond having the same kind of bits that are common to most subtractive synths.<br/> <br/> Its a digital synth that makes no prententions of being anyth...

Re: V-Synth as MIDI Controller
<t>Is your v-synth set to send a midi clock, whereas the D50 mode isnt and is the TI set to sync with external midi?<br/> <br/> I personally think the TI with current OS is very sensitive to the stability of the midi clock.<br/> <br/> Actually so is the V-synth, but it manifests itself differently a...

OMNI ON bug in V-Synth?
<t>For some reason my v-synth keeps getting stuck in OMNI ON for no obvious reason. I cant even find any trace of another MIDI device sending this message to it.<br/> <br/> Power cycling the v-synth wont fix it - the only fix seems to be a factory reset - very annoying.<br/> <br/> V-Synth is running...

Re: SH-201 owner's manual investigations
<r>I thought the 201 was just a severely crippled v-synth va engine?<br/> <br/> Basically take the v-snths VA, loose the per block envelopea and LFO and other useful stuff, strip the mod options to the minimum, keep the oscilator types (ext and va) and away up go <E>:)</E><br/> <br/> Actually - the ...

The only benefit would be getting more of the info on screen at the same time.
But as others have said - V-Synth is so damn good anyway...

Re: Just Bought a V Synth
ultraharmonizer - good choice - Im told it takes ages to tweak and tune mail order brides to squeak in sync and in tune, though good for sound fx.
Arps can be kind of problematic with them, and they seem to turn a funny color whenn you plug them into the mains.

Re: V-Synth main out...balanced?
I have just had a response back from Roland support in the UK:
"Thank you for your e-mail
All outputs on the V-Synth are unbalanced.
Best regards"

Re: Help with V-Synth control panel for Cubase SX3
Look in the data lists for each parameter in the v-synth manual, it should tell you specifically how each is mapped for the specific paarameter type. That looks like a generic comment to describe in general how multi-byte mappings are done. Cubase SX does provide a mechanism for masking and splittin...
