the MIDI footswitch is naturally suspect too ... i've also just asked a friend if he has another MIDI device that can send simple start/stop commands via MIDI to see if the MC-808 responds you could also try it using some software sequencer if you have the possibility to connect your 808 to a compu...

you can initialize and rewrite all the patterns.

and you have to stop the sequencer to do any editing, also copying, which is a bit anoying...

You can take the bass (part 2) from pattern 5 for example and change the part information from that to the part 2 on pattern 10. The entire part is changed (temporarily, unless you save it to a user pattern) to the new part including patch, notes, controller messages, everything. thanks for the exp...
