Re: Roland XP50 LCD Display Problems
Just to finish this thread about "HELP - what can I do about my XP-50 display showing all orange without any characters!"... and "where can I find the right capacitors for ..." Watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBlEcb1rZMA and follow the instructions. This way you don't have t...

Admin,
can we remove this thread and user from the board? I think everyone is already receiving enough spam.

Re: RD-700NX Volume pedal
Snowbird, you are right in so far as it is not possible to finetune the influence of the expression pedal on different parts of a layer and fade in and out the layer sound as a whole without changing the relative volumes of the parts. But I still find it handy to route the expression to selected lay...

Re: RD 700NX - Can you save settings?
In order to set the settings of the EQ globally for all LiveSets (e.g. you want to adjust the sound of the instrument to the acoustics of a specific room), you have to set the parameter Menu/0.System/EQ-Mode to "System". If you want to save the EQ-settings with each individual LiveSet you ...

Re: Structure of the LiveSet RDS-File
Hi Benoit, I contacted MarcoPolo in December. He stated that he had created a basic librarian but wanted to add a few of the requested features before releasing it. Unfortunately he needed to shift priorities for personal reasons, explaining the long silence. As I understand, the librarian he made w...

Re: Want 64 keys ? The new RD-64 piano ...
This thing looks outright ugly! Nothing you'd want to be seen with, unless you name your band Kraftwerk...
Having a more mobile alternative to the huge RD700NX would actually be nice. But this new piano lacks the controls and editing features, I like the RD700 for. Roland, you can do better!

Re: Structure of the LiveSet RDS-File
That helps - thank you! Am I right in assuming that each LiveSet also has an individual checksum-byte at relative offset 0x87F? If so, how is it calculated?

Re: Structure of the LiveSet RDS-File
In the meantime I found out that the RDS-file is not really encrypted, as suggested elsewhere. Appearently the data is simply not stored in a conventional 8-bit pattern, that would be easily readable in a hex-editor. Instead, the letters of the LiveSet names are coded as ASCII, but in 7-bit chunks, ...

Re: RD700NX Librarian
Hi MarcoPolo, this application is exactly what I have been wanting to create for the past couple of months. How can I get it, would you be willing to share it as a download? Would you also share some of the knowledge you must have gained about the structure of the RDS-file in order to create this ap...

Structure of the LiveSet RDS-File
Hi all, would anyone be interested in some reverse engineering on the structure of the LiveSet RDS-File? As I understand, Roland does not intend to lay open the data structure - so maybe we have to take things into our own hands. After all, we purchased these expensive machines and should not be pre...

Re: Sharing sounds
Thanks for the comment, howardS. I had taken a look at the mentioned thread earlier and decided that it would take too much hassle. I am running my PC on Linux and don't have a MIDI-card, so MIDI-interfacing is not just plug'n play for me ... Connecting through USB is the only easy option I see for ...

Sharing sounds
Hi all!
Who would be interested in sharing sound settings / Live Sets for the RD700NX? Is there a possibility to save just one Live Set at a time to USB, or is it only possible to save the whole user-bank?

Re: Reasons to pick RD-700NX over FP-7F?
Hi Turnstyle, for living-room use the FP7 may be the better option (less cables, built-in speakers). The RD700 on the other hand has far more sounds, better sound editing, variations and live control. Especially if you like playing organ and layer sounds, the sliders of the RD700 give you much bette...

Re: Quick access to Live Sets
Using the Favorites mode has the disadvantage that it's not possible to go into the layer edit mode at the same time. I am usually playing in this mode to see what layers my current sound has available. Sometimes I also do online editing while playing (bad habit from my synth past...), changing part...
