Re: How to change sound in Soniccell in live situation?
If you have an iPad or iphone, there's an excellent app, "iMidiPatchbay", which can store unlimited midi presets including bank/patch change messages. This way you could either call up several individual patches within the same performance or change the performance. As a midi interface, I ...

Look at the Jupiter 80 sound list, you can download it here:
http://www.roland.com/products/jupiter-80/support/
You will see that the Jupiter has many more SuperNatural Acoustic sounds than the FA. I would say that's its main advantage compared to the FA. The SN-Synth department should be identical.

Re: Are modern synths any good?
I didn't even rate the Kronos pianos! I've currently got the FA-06, and took it to a band rehearsal last night. To me nothing sounded as good as my N364 (8 MB ROM). There's a Rock Piano combo that surpasses any piano patch I've had on any subsequent keyboard. [...] What's going on here? Am I just m...

Re: Integra Pianos-AMAZING
As I own a MoXF and and Integra as well, I would rate the Integra SN piano(s) (actually it is only one), the SRX 11 and the very special SRX 02 superior to the factory Motif/MoXF pianos, definitely superior to the 'Full Grand' (old CP3 waveforms), but also superior to the newer S6 Piano. But dependi...

Re: New Juno-DS61, just a cheaper FA?
If you look at the features of Roland's new arranger E-A7, it can use the WAV samples for the synth engine and also accepts multisamples, so I guess it will be the same with the new Juno.

Re: FA08 + KC-110 amp issues
I can't confirm this. The speakers I suggested only have 5 inches and work perfectly for piano up to a surprisingly loud volume without distorting. I've even used them along with a drummer.

Re: FA08 + KC-110 amp issues
I have never tried a Roland speaker, but I haven't heard too positive things about the KC-110. Piano samples often tend to cause distortion with many speakers, I even had difficulties with Genelec 8020 monitors. So I think the KC-110 probably just cannot handle the piano frequencies well enough. I c...

Re: System Update Version 1.03
As far as the FA goes, the Axial site was intended to give FA users FREE access to a wide variety of JV and SRX series sounds. not because they just wanted to 'recycle', but because it was and still is a great collection of very usable high quality sounds. What baffles me is the number of people wh...

Re: Saving imported sounds from Axial Site
You may call it '----', on the other hand you get the expansions for free, while the hardware SRX boards for former Roland synths still cost you 150+ euros per board as used items on Ebay.

Re: Saving imported sounds from Axial Site
Yes, fact is you CAN only use the waveforms of two expansions currently loaded at a time, there is no way to pick your individual collection of sounds+waveforms from several expansions and store them.

Re: Brass effects for Roland FA 08
Curious now. Can you program a setting in which each key actually plays multiple notes? For example if I want to have a dissonance chord sound or like an unnerving brass cluster (ala Creature From The Black Lagoon or The Shining) can I somehow have three trumpets and each of them is tuned to a semi...

Re: Fantom X Patches to FA
No, that's one of the shortcomings of the FA (and even Integra, although it's compensated by all the other SN and SRX sounds there): the newer waveforms of the Fantom X are not implemented in the FA (for example: "Ultimate Piano". So you cannot replicate the same patches.

Re: Brass effects for Roland FA 08
One thing worth noting about EXP-07, some of those effects like the drops and rips won't trigger unless you either hammer the keyboard for full velocity, or set a fixed velocity at maximum (127). I have the FA-06, and from what I've heard, the FA-08 has a better touch response, so you might not hav...

Re: Can I use the Integra 7 with the FA-08??? for more sound
Working on new gear is good news of course! I think it is Roland's duty to fulfill announcements and promises and to solve bugs, but not to totally change the firmware. Considering the fairly low price of the FA-06 and the free expansions, which still cost around 150-200 Euros each in the form of us...
