Re: Discontinued
I just wish they had fixed the after touch before abandoning it. Also if they had given us a library editor. Beyond that it doesn’t need anything else to live on for decades

Re: JP80 great sound - compare Integra
you think if you used an external keyboard controller to layer up Integra-7 sounds you could get close to the JP80 sound, minus arp?

Re: Replacement for the Jupiter-80?
I really doubt it. Sure would love an OS update though if they are going to keep selling it. Fix aftertouch, give us midi for a librarian... doubt that too though...

JP80 to Integra-7
I have a JP-80. Love the sounds, especially the VA sounds. Thinking about picking up an Integra-7. A couple questions about the differences, I have read many many posts about some of the differences and many people saying they are different animals, even if very similar. One question I have is that ...

Re: JP80 great sound - compare Integra
I'm thinking about trading in my JP-80 for an integra... Does the integra cover all the analog synth sounds as the JP-80 does? Everything in terms of layering?

Re: JP-80 owners, Q about aftertouch implementation
its one of the disappointments about the JP80 that aftertouch was not implemented very well. The fact that it can't be assigned to modulation is a major disappointment. Some people figured out a way to connect an external box that listens to midi, translates aftertouch into modulation and feeds it b...

Re: OFFICIAL Librarian Request Thread
We don't know if its even possible. And the only way it might be possible is by reverse engineering, which is time consuming and difficult work...and in the end, may not work anyway. and even if it did, would help a very small audience.

Re: OFFICIAL Librarian Request Thread
I can't remember if we decided it would be possible to use midi to send program changes one at a time to run through every registration and then use the existing sysex midi spec to read/save for each one. The midi spec does provide the info needed to EDIT the current patch. That's why Roland has an ...

Re: OFFICIAL Librarian Request Thread

Re: OFFICIAL Librarian Request Thread
the problem is that in order to release a librarian they would probably have to update the firmware in a significant way...it does not currently have the midi support for anyone to do a proper librarian. Its extremely unlikely that Roland is going to make that kind of major change to the firmware at...

Re: Musikmesse and Jupiter 80 replacements?
I personally don't think we're gonna see a next gen Jupiter 80. Enjoy this one, its never going to get another update, its never going to get a librarian, and its never going to get a successor. Its a unique synth on its own right. The price has to come down probably because they are going to discon...

Re: Reading Jupiter-80 sound sets on a PC/Mac
The best thing to do is to pass along whatever intellectual knowledge you have figured out kimsnarf and hope that in the future one or more other smart people will find time to carry the torch a little further. Perhaps someday a librarian will result. I also have not had time to pursue anything, and...
