Re: JV-1000 vs XP80 from a sound perspective?

Max The XP-80 is the JV-1000's successor. Since the JV and XP models use essentially the same sound engine, anything that will play on the JV models should also play on the XP-80. I can not speak for the other XP models (XP-10/30/50), or for backward compatibility from XP to JV models, as I never ha...

Asian tone patches

Is there anyone here who can assist, or provide advice on the creation of Middle-Eastern or Asian (particularly Indian) tone patches, as well as more expressive strings patches for the Roland FA-06? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: JUNO GI NOT ALL LIVE SETS WILL DISPLAY

Len I am not certain what you did originally, but if you were following my advice, you would have just done a Factory Reset per Page 78 of the manual, but once again, you want to back up any of your user data before doing that. If that worked for you originally, but now need to do it again, it makes...

Re: JP50 spare power supply question

My JP-50 came with a PSB-1U power supply.

I purchased it new (in sealed box) from Guitar Center on July 10, 2012.

Re: Just Intonation

Your problem with using Bulk Dumps for this is that you will not find any keyboard that has a front panel button or menu item labeled "Send Bulk Dump of Alternate Tuning Data". Bulk Dumps originated by the keyboard are typically limited to Bulk Dumps of all user data to an SD Card, USB Fla...

Re: Just Intonation

Very interesting. I stand corrected, and apologize for poor wording on my part. I was aware of the Bulk Dump (non-Real Time) tuning support, but I was not aware of the Single Note (Real Time) tuning support. The question now is - does the Juno-Di support it ? The spec does imply that not all devices...

Re: Just Intonation

Scale tunings are not part of the MIDI specification and, therefore, are not part of the MIDI data transmitted by a keyboard. You would need to do the tuning in Garage Band or whatever VST instrument you are sending the MIDI note-on/note-off data to.

Re: To buy : Jupiter50 OR juno Stage ?

Hey Snoop ! I was hoping you would pop in here with your 2 cents worth and some really sage Stage advice, since you have already been through it. I was thinking of you when I wrote my reply, but went ahead and posted it, as I have had more than several occasions recently to regret buying the JP-50 i...

Re: To buy : Jupiter50 OR juno Stage ?

If you are used to the 16-part multi-timbral sound engines in your XP-30 and FA-76 that you can run 16 MIDI channels into from your DAW, and would expect this in the keyboard you are adding, then you will need to go with the Juno Stage. The Jupiter-50 is based on the new LiveSet sound engine design ...

Re: Transpose Individual Patches??

If you are looking to simply offset the entire board's tuning, see the Master Tune function on Page 75 of the manual. Once you have done this, you can save it to a "registration" (Roland calls these "Favorites") for quick single button recall. See Page 46 of the manual for saving...

Re: Error Updating

A failed firmware update usually means a trip to the Service Center to have the firmware memory reflashed. Since the Di will not come up, you can not try a factory reset, as that is accessed through the menu system once the unit is up and running. The Di is not one of those units where you trigger a...

Re: drum track on juno?

The Juno-Gi has two separate tempos - the KEYBOARD tempo and the RECORDER tempo. Since the RHYTHM PATTERN generator is part of the RECORDER circuitry, try pressing the TEMPO button to bring up the TEMPO window, then select LINK to lock the two tempos together and see if that resolves your problem. S...

Re: jp synth editor app again

No, the USB cable does not deliver power to the iPad. That is, the keyboard will not keep the iPad's battery charged. Its USB port does not have that kind of power capability. When you connect the iPad to the keyboard via a WIFI adapter, you have the option of two different modes of WIFI connection....

Re: Juno DI Metronome

You are most welcome. Sorry I didn't mention it before, but your metronome "pattern" would normally use the "Metro Bell" for the downbeat and something like a rim shot or stick shot or wood block for the other beats in the measure.

Best of luck !
