Re: JP Synth Editor questions

If you touch the 'cogs' button on the top right corner of the app you can select 'manual' from the drop-down menu that appears which should answer your questions.

Re: Newbie again - Organising the J50 for Live shows

'Normal' thing to do is to create a registration for each song in your set. It's very easy to do, set up the patches, any splits, effects, etc. how you want them to be, then use the write button to write the registration. You can rename it to something meaningful, and choose which of the 256 slots ...

Re: New JP-50 sounds from Roland

So how come they snuck these out without telling anybody? What's the point of registering with Roland if they can't be arsed to even send me an email when new sounds are released. Oh I know, it's so they can send me loads of spam for drum machines, arrangers, DJ kit and other crap I have no interest...

Re: Love my J-50

I don't play much outside of my little home studio, but last night I got together for a free form jam session with a drummer and bassist. We played all kinds of jazz/rock fusion, with everything from the blues to ambient and prog thrown into the mix. I only brought my J-50, and played it through th...

Re: Software Version 1.10

Yes I installed the v1.1 to support the wifi dongle. This works fine, nothing else seemed to have changed. The intermediate point versions, if they ever existed never appeared on Roland's site.

Re: Short cut to entering sounds

Hi therealvicz I tried setting the alternative button for a different set up but was obviously doing something wrong when it came to saving it as the original sound I had switched from disappeared. Is the alternative saved as a separate registration and linked by the alternative button or should it...

Re: Short cut to entering sounds

Yes it's a shame these forums aren't more popular. I do find browsing for a particular sound tedious sometimes. The JP50 is my first Roland apart from pianos, so I don't find it particularly helpful that so many of them are named after earlier synths 'JP-106 Strings' doesn't help me much! I found th...

Re: Short cut to entering sounds

You can always set up consecutive registrations with the live set layer changes and flick quickly between them with the wheel or buttons. This has the advantage that the change wont take effect while keys are being pressed so you can get the timing exact. Or you can set up the two sounds as alternat...
