Re: Best/favorite piano patch in the new Fantom...?

Garritan CFX and Pianoteq 7 meet all of my needs. I don't even use the Roland pianos anymore. Pianoteq 7 is a huge improvement over 6. Garritan CFX is worth every penny. If I had to pick one, I would choose Garritan. In either case, playing while listening to them just makes me want to keep playing...

Sequencer Question

When you press on the touchscreen to enable a clip or scene, is a MIDI message sent out that could be used to trigger a clip in Ableton, for example? Thanks.

XP-30 Aftertouch

Greetings. I just picked up a very nice XP-30. The aftertouch on the lower half of the board requires a lot of force to activate, but as you move up the keyboard, the force required lowers to something reasonable. To correct this, I assume I need to pull it apart and clean the aftertouch strip? I sp...

XV-2020 Won't Store User Bank (Battery?)

Hi. When I power cycle my XV-2020, the patches in the user bank disappear and revert to the factory patches. I opened the top cover, but didn't see a backup battery. Is there a fix for this problem? A Google search didn't reveal anything.

Thank you.

XV-5080 Factory Patches Sysex File?

Hi. Late to the game, I know, but are there Sysex files available somewhere that have the 5080 factory patches (user and preset banks)? I'd like to dump them into my 2020.

Thank you!

JV-1010 Value Encoder Replacement

Hi. Has anyone ever replaced one? If so, what part did you use? I found the Roland P/N: 01785790, which cross references to a custom Alps part: rk09710el-5r4611. I've had zero luck locating this exact replacement. If you have an alternate part that works, please let me know.

Thank you!

MV-8800 Dust Under Display

Hello. Has anyone disassembled their 8800 to clean dust out from under the glass? I just picked one up, and there is quite a bit of dust in there.

I searched around for a service manual, and on YouTube, with no luck.

Thank you!

JV-1010 vs. XP-30

Greetings. Are the JV-1010 and XP-30 effectively the same (sound engines), other than the obvious fact that the XP-30 is a keyboard?

Thank you.

Re: Controlling the rotary effect via pedal/dBeam?

Hi. A momentary footswitch (like a damper pedal on a piano) works just as you described. It will only change the rotary to fast speed when you're holding it down. I couldn't find any way in the menus to set the pedal inputs to "latch" like you can the panel switches. I ended buying a latch...
