Re: 320 Sounds for the System 8

I highly recommend this patch collection! Geosynth really knows how to bring out the best from the System-8. I've learned a lot from studying Geosynth's patches for this and other synths (esp. OB-6 and DeepMind).

I agree--these are great patches! I also recommend the new System-8 banks from Geosynth!

Re: Great things for System8 this summer

This is really great news! I'm really enjoying the new update! Here's hoping that System-8 owners either get a break on Roland Cloud subscriptions or are given a discounted pathway to purchase the System-8/Jupiter-8/Juno-106 plugout editors. Doing so would be a smart way to boost sales, esp. since t...

Is there any way to accomplish TD-style ratcheting with the Step Sequencer?

Re: okSequencer for macOS

This looks great, but why is it only compatible with Sierra (OS 10.12)? That's a deal breaker for those of us who haven't upgraded to Sierra because of compatibility issues with other software. Is there some compelling reason why okSequencer isn't backwards compatible with pre-Sierra operating syste...

Re: JD-Xi Overlays

1. Register your JD-Xi with Roland.

2. Go to Service & Repair > Parts Order Request.

3. Fill out Parts Order Request form for "JD-Xi Panel Overlays."

4. Wait for confirmation from Roland that the overlays are on their way.

Re: New Front Panel Overlay coming for JD-XA

Just installed the free Roland overlays for the JD-XA. As far as I'm concerned, they look great and the price is right. The free overlays provide a huge improvement in legibility and reduction in reflected glare, fingerprints, etc. Thank you, Roland!

Just purchased. Superb sounds! Best Vangelis emulations I've heard from a Roland VA synth. Hope more JP80 sound banks will be forthcoming!

Re: Possible CC control?

I'm trying to control the JP08 sliders with my Axiom 61 using Bome's MIDI Translator Classic. For some reason I cant get it going. I also have a Roland Juno 106 which uses SYSEX, I can control that fine with my Axiom and Bome's. I dont understand why the JP08 would be any diffrent unless Im missing...

Re: Possible CC control?

Thanks for the helpful info! Something like the iOS app TB Midi Stuff, which handles bidirectional sysex, could probably be programmed for this purpose: http://www.thiburce.com/TBStuff/?page_id=423

Re: JD-XA Crackling Sound

I don't know the range of serial numbers, but I can tell you how I handled a similar problem with my own JD-XA. Since it was beyond the time that I could return it to the vendor, I spoke directly to Roland's tech support, who were very helpful. After ruling out other possibilities, Roland provided a...

Re: Midi Import into Selected Tracks?

I asked Roland tech support about this back in September and here was their response: "The JD-XA imports pattern data by their MIDI channel. MIDI Channel 1 = Track 1 MIDI Channel 2 = Track 2 MIDI Channel 3 = Track 3 Etc. So, you would need to change the MIDI channel to determine the track you w...
