Re: Next Fantom update?
I messaged them about the new product being or not compatible with Fantom, since I had pre-ordered it based on the information shown below announcing that "...what you need to give your Roland synth access to the fabulous Roland Cloud library." and "So for owners of a Jupiter-X, Jupi...

Re: JD-800
My main issue with Roland's current direction is the juvenile marketing plan to release software updates for the Fantom that include capabilities that were already "baked in the cake". There is no reason Roland couldn't have released the JD-800 for the Fantom at the same time it was releas...

Re: Next Fantom update?
Now that they've added the JD-800 to the cloud, it's time to include in the next update the option to add the JD-800 once purchased.

Tone List View
Does anyone know if there is a way to set the Tone List view default to All Category when you first enter Tone List view? I prefer the Tone List view when auditioning and searching sounds, but often I want to see all sounds; not just from a specific category. When you first go into list view it is a...

Prices are going up on gear... if it's in stock. Mostly due to shipping costs.

Re: Important OS Questions NEVER addressed!
The more I go along this Fantom update ride, the more it wreaks of a carefully created marketing plan to accomplish two things - 1) give the impression of creating more value for existing customers. 2) undo their horrible reputation of abandoning update plans after a few meager attempts with past ha...

Re: New / Better FX Options For Fantom
Now with OS 2.50 released, perhaps Roland can get the EFX section addressed on the next release. The 2.50 looks to be a bit of a bust. A 25 year old modeled tone wheel organ that we've already seen in the Jupiter 80. Throw in a few compatibility enhancements and I'm not sure these features shouldn't...

Re: New / Better FX Options For Fantom
The ability to freely assign effects however you wanted is how Rolands used to work. People complained that, when they combined single patches into multi-sound combinations, the sounds didn't always sound the same as they did when played individually, and the reason basically came down to effects. ...

Re: Tonewheel organ for Fantom is coming out?
I'd like some of the functionality addressed first, before "bells and whistles." The last thing we need is any more electric pianos, though!!! :) How about they do something with that horribly limited FX routing / utilization. It could be so much more useful and easy... I've never seen an...

Re: Fantom 8 with 76 MIDI Controller, or Fantom 7 with 88 MI
If you're playing live, no question - Fantom 7 w/ RD88. Both are reasonably light for transporting. The Fantom 8 is HUGE and heavy.

Model Expansions
So, it appears that these recently released "Model Expansions" for Roland Cloud are just cloud versions of what is already in the Jupiter X, and likely not coming to a Fantom near you anytime soon. See this chart for the details. https://www.roland.com/us/support/by_product/rc_jx-8p_model_...

Re: Wanting a Fantom when I love my Jupiter X?
I have the F7 above a CP88. Been really watching all the JPX reviews to see if the added keybed and added potential polyphony fits the desires. Like mentioned before, if you don't have weighted keys, go for the F8.

Re: things are coming
Well it's not true 256 note polyphony. It's 256 *partial* polyphony... a "tone" in Roland-speak can use up to 4 partials per voice however. That was the best explanation I've seen on this subject... I've gone round and round with folks on this... even a Roland rep... but I guess I kept co...

Kinda reminds me of when I bought my Korg Kronos and you had to buy the PolySix and MS20 expansions... oh, wait... no, that's right... they already came with it... for free!!
