Re: Boss RC-505: Input Level INST knob {RESOLVED}
[/b] That's very strange... The Inst Level knob has always worked for me for the L/R instrument inputs. If you turn it all the way up with your keyboard making a sound, does the level light come on, showing the signal getting too loud? The AUX does is not affected by the knobs, this is by design. Yo...

Boss RC-505: Input Level INST knob question
Hi, can't fathom why the INPUT LEVEL - INSTR knob of my Boss RC-505 doesn't work to vary the input signal from a stereo keyboard into the 505's twin jacks. Turning the INST level knob has no effect. OTOH, the MIC level knob works fine. Similar situation with the mini stereo AUX input. Turning knob d...

Re: Blind Guy Looking for a Synth
Hi there, MinorKey, Don't own a Roland FA-06 these days but I recall there being some helpful stuff for blind players on this site regards the FA-06. Here's an example link of many from the FA-06 group: http://forums.rolandclan.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=48647&p=279076&hilit=blind#p27907 c...

A good used MV8800 was on my Christmas list until I saw this topic. Think I'll wait for a while. I'd be one sick parrot if I were to blow five hundred quid then see a new Roland standalone hit the streets. :)JUKE179r wrote:Roland needs to step the fuck up... dammit!

Re: Hooking my FA08 to what software? Opinions please
Think about using the FA as audio interface, or buy a PC USB audio interface of your choice. With the FA you have to connect any microphone to the FA's MIC audio input. Connect The FA with an USB cable with your PC. Install the FA driver on the PC. select 'FA-0x' in the INPUT combo of Audacity. Set...

Re: FA08 beginner advice?
So I decided to upgrade my Casio SK-5 with a Roland FA 08, very happy the instrument is a beast. I'm almost going the other way. I want to buy a simple sampling device to complement my FA-06. The two contenders I can find are: * Korg Volca Sample * Korg Electribe Sampler (are there any other portab...

Re: sampler too basic. Alternative?
I like the sampler in that its easy to capture audio and crop it. But that's it. I want to map samples across the keybed as though they behave like any other preset. I would like to play the sample backwards, stretch the audio.. then store it like that. Have I missed something, or is there a sample...

[quote="cresshead"]re sample pad section "...Hi i currently don't own a FA but i'm almost there hitting the BUY button!..." Hi cresshead. So with this unwelcome knowledge, (no Recording samples whilst Playing samples)... would that be a deal-breaker on your new new FA? Or maybe c...

Re: Memory Issue
Still the same problem. No way to make a sample with the guitar as external input. Other thoughts? Ernie Hi Ernie, Still learning the ropes on my own G6, but from perusing old Fantom G forums posts and looking at YouTube vids, this might be the Number One frequently-raised issue :-) How about this ...

Re: Memory Issue
I just purchased 1GB of memory for my Roland Fantom G8. The reason that I did this is that my son wanted to do longer samples and he would run out of memory. I have installed the memory and it shows that it is installed, however, when my son tries to record a new sample he gets a "Sample Memor...

Re: Modulation (S1) hangs
I don't think it's the button. I did the factory restore, and the vibrato was gone. Then I restored my project and the vibrato was back again. So I think there i some kind of system setting that forces the modulation/vibrato on. The problem goes for both live an single mode. Before the problem occu...

Hi there. I'd also like to thank you for the fantastic information regarding the physical layout of this synth. I'm planning to get the fa08 later this month and am also a blind user. I also had a question and it pertains to sequencing on the machine. For a blind person I wonder how difficult the s...

Re: Nu Fantom G6 owner here, UK
Hi there, Quinnx. Yep, I took the long way round to get to this Fantom G. Glad to arrive. A bit quiet here, mind you: suppose most Fantom G owners have learned all the tricks and have gone their merry ways. Searching old posts should be useful. Got the Fantom G tutorial DVD's on the way, so anyone p...
