Re: Vol 12 "dark Clouds" is out :)
Unbelievable that so many patches given away with such humility. Thank you Lello!

Re: Petitioning Roland for JD-XA updates.
The reports of JD-XA's death have been greatly exaggerated. I haven't been able to give the JD-XA the time it needs but it is so many synths in one. 4 x monos, 1 x 4 voice poly, a few supernatural synth parts. It's not dead. My biggest gripe is lack of another output pair and that was a decision the...

Re: Is Aira dead ?
Aira has morphed into the boutiques I think. The TR-8 got a lot right but not so much the TB-3. The new Tron look and new ideas just weren't as successful. People mostly want nostalgia and small boxes. The cute factor seems very important although I do not know how you can operate some of the knobs.

Re: TB-03 questions
1. It seems like I cannot control the volume of the TB-03 via MIDI. This is normal. It's a x0x step sequencer, it doesn't have individual velocity per step. 2. Slides seem to be possible only by setting a specific MIDI controller (102) This is correct. TBH I think you are missing out a lot by not us...

Re: Roland is Inflating their Pricing!
I got my JD-XA at AU $2,699 when that was by far the cheapest price anywhere in AU and had been out for a year. I got my Toraiz SP-16 at $1,849 on the Pioneer wide 20% discount when a month later it was $1,799 without the 20% discount and then a further $200 cashback offer. I am too cheesed off to b...

Re: Global Reverb does almost nothing
I've only gotten into the effects recently and I agree the reverb is a mild effect, suitable for most keyboard work but not an Eventide Space. The FX chain is a fix strange. Global reverb first (individual send amounts) then 2 x TFX which are very cutdown and basic then delay on the end without indi...

Re: Applying Roland Overlay
I think you have a lot of time on your hands. The free Roland overlays are fine and the JD-XA needs to be in a well lit area to reduce the red glare. You can turn the leds off and suddely you need to turn the leds back on because its looks so dead without them. They are also very helpful with catch ...

He said there is nothing in the pipeline yet, but it may see a new OS version at some point in its lifetime!

Re: OS 1.6 update requests
Hope fading for another OS update ... Step sequencer should be awesome but I have difficulty getting great lines out of it. It needs knob modulation per step and it just doesn't work that well. In comparison, brilliant lines come out of the TB-03 all the time. I have hardware sequencer options but t...

Re: New Front Panel Overlay coming for JD-XA
Another thumbs up for the Roland panels. Much nicer to use the instrument now. Because they only stick on with 4 small points, they can be removed and reapplied if you're OCD. I actually was surprised they offered the panels but I guess enough people complained. Roland do listen.

Re: Why should I get a JD-XA?
JD-XA is
4 x separate Dual DCO analog mono synths with a pattern sequencer for each
4 x separate 3 Osc digital poly synths with pattern sequencer for each
8 x midi controller parts with pattern sequencer for each
All in one keyboard.
Might take a bit of time for that to sink in.

Re: Wish List for the JD XA.
Complete the sequencer, that's all I ask. A few short cuts for stuff like legate on/off would be nice too. It's difficult to be that hard on the JD-XA, it got so many things right. It opened up synth programming, it practically ditched the idea of presets and patches precisely because you will be pr...
