Re: RD 800 Midi Input Channel
Hi Markus So long as your external keyboard (or computer software) can transmit MSB/LSB/PC over MIDI, then you should be able to assign RD800 internal tones to MIDI channels 5-16, which will then be output from the RD800 line outs. I haven't found a way to set tones for anything other than channels ...

Re: RD-300NX: Changing parts sounds
Hello vonmag
On the RD-800, parts 5~16 can only be selected by an external MIDI device.
I'm sure the same applies to the RD-300NX

Re: A USB-MIDI issue with RD-700NX
Hi dtaki
Have you checked with the RD-700NX connected directly to the MacBook USB port, rather than via a hub (which is probably frowned upon in some circles anyway).

Re: S1 and S2 lights don't light up on RD800?
Hi FilmMxMan S1 & S2 only illuminate when the assigned function supports 'Latch' mode, as '131 Octave down' & '132 Octave up' are momentary functions (irrespective of the switch type setting), they won't illuminate, although the 'Transpose' button does. Press and hold Exit/Shift, then press ...

Re: a disturbing key sound
Speakers, headphones and room acoustics will always alter the sound slightly, which can be picked up by the ear.
That's one of the great things about the RD-800, you can level it out, or alter the character of individual notes, and then save it off as a 'Live Set'.

Re: RD-800 System Program Version 1.04 Bug List (+ Wish List
Have submitted the following to Roland UK as a potential anomaly in the current version of the system program. On-board rhythms don't always match set tempo. For example, selecting crotchet = 120, the first 81 rhythms are fine, then as you move onto the following, the tempo changes and no longer mat...

Try changing the 'Character' of just that note in 'Individual Note Voicing' (page 34 of the manual)

Re: Pedal adjustment RD700NX
On the DP10 there is a switch to toggle between 'continuous' and 'switch' modes. If the RPU-3 has the same, change it to 'switch' mode, although you will lose the half peddling feature (which brings the dampers further away from the strings the more you press it when in 'continuous' mode). AFAIK, th...

Re: Ready to Buy an RD-800 - A Question
Haven't see any reports of breakages, even read somewhere that the Roland guys dropped their RD-800 down the stairs, and it didn't sustain any damage. I suppose if the cost and weight have to come down, something has to go, and that was the aluminium top. Personally, I'm glad for the weight reductio...

Re: RD-800 System Program Version 1.04 Bug List (+ Wish List
Hello wsimard Considering the RD-800 is primarily a 'Stage Piano', I think the live master controller functions provided have been very generous in comparison with previous RD models. We now have 4 assignable pots, 3 switches and 3 pedals. According to the RD-800 MIDI Implementation manual CC91 is E...

There's a few things I would like to see in the RD-800, as a RD700SX user since 8 years. - Live set/layer edit using the right arrow - Possibility to have a Pitch/Mod assign menu - Possibility to assign the pitch bend to Leslie speed in live set mode - I miss the GalaticSX tone - More options (dest...

Re: Rd700gx default equalization
Hi, i bought this digital piano used for a month ago. I have been playing it with an akg ak44 headphone, and i noticed that its default equalization is a way too bass and middle focused. Hello silvio_giuliani I own a RD-800, and also find it too bass to midrange heavy. I listen using either a pair ...

Re: Rumors of a possible RD-800 re-call spawned by this.
In the UK, Roland have contacted registered owners to arrange for the modification to be fitted. Unlike the US, I don't think UK owners have been given the option to fit the kit themselves, even if it is simple. I personally have declined to have the modification fitted, having already confirmed to ...

Re: ROLAND RD700nx Hanging Welcome Display
I agree with howardS, the USB should work fine if formatted under Windows/Mac, so follow his instructions above. I'm more surprised by your comment that your dealer is only honouring the first year of what I thought was 3 years on all Roland Stage Pianos, I'd go back and ask them to verify they've g...
