Re: Integra to Focusrite Scarlett by S/PDIF gives static

Again, many thanks to those who replied.

After trying all advice, I gave up. I am connected using the TRS cables and not S/PDIF.

Re: Integra to Focusrite Scarlett by S/PDIF gives static

Thank you. Yes, I am aware of all this. I followed the instructions of Focusrite Support. I have the Integra-7 which is a hardware MIDI synth. I want the audio signal it produces to go to the Focusrite. There is no sending of MIDI data by itself except USB into the Integra-7 from my audio software.

Integra to Focusrite Scarlett by S/PDIF gives static

I have been in touch with Focusrite Support, normally very good, but they cannot help me. I have used my Integra-7 for years into a Focusrite 18i20 (2nd gen) interface via S/PDIF cable. Nothing I do will eliminate static clicks and pops when the Integra-7 sends a signal. I have had to connect them v...

Re: Integra 7 and SPDif

I have two Integra-7s. Both work fine with SP/DIF into a Focusrite 18i20, one first generation and the other 2nd generation. Several years ago when I first got a Roland Fantom XR (predecessor of the Integra-7 I have now), I experimented with TRS cables versus SP/DIF and concluded the SP/DIF connecti...

Re: INTEGRA-7 Sound Editor for Windows

I don't yet have the Integra-7 but I'm considering an upgrade from my Fantom XR so I looked at your editor. It looks very good, but unless you actually have an Integra-7 connected, you cannot exit the program; you must use Task Manager to close it. A minor point, but I thought you would like to know.

Re: Worth upgrading to Integra7 from loaded Fantom XR?

Good point, thank you. I have never needed to use the card slot in the Fantom, and likely would be happy with the built-in sounds of the Integra as well. For the instruments I use, a small jazz group, maybe with strings, I have never had to try making my own sounds.

Re: Worth upgrading to Integra7 from loaded Fantom XR?

Thank you both. Yes, very helpful info.

I only use the Fantom XR with a sequencer, and would do the same with the Integra-7. Thus I don't think any of the disadvantages mentioned in the first reply would be a problem.

Again, many thanks for these opinions.

Lots of views in a week (75) but no comments? I'm surprised.

Worth upgrading to Integra7 from loaded Fantom XR?

It looks like I'm a new user, but I couldn't get in after a long absence, and had to re-register. My former name here was Riojazz. I am very happy with my Fantom XR which was purchased about seven years ago. As a composer, I use it with Band-in-a-Box, SONAR, and notation programs. It has six SRX boa...
