Re: JU-06A isn't visible on my MacBook

Do any of you have other Boutique drivers installed? I've got 3xJP-08 (I know, I know - a bit of a silly decision), 1xTR-09, 1xSE-02 and the Aria app customiser (the one that allows you to create different devices inside the effects units that they made a few years ago. I have a "Demora" d...

Re: JU-06A isn't visible on my MacBook

Hi everyone - I was certain I'd set the site to email me when I had a response; I assumed no one had replied :-) Sorry! And thank you all for your replies and thoughts. I really do appreciate it. It's also good to hear that people have it working as it should, so it's definitely something going wron...

JU-06A isn't visible on my MacBook

Hi everyone This issue has come up on different forums at different times, and now it's affecting me. I've got a JU-06A and a MacBook Pro running Catalina. I've installed the driver - the "install helper" app (which is bundled with the driver) says "The driver has been successfully in...

Re: New owner , few questions...

It shouldn't have done that. The new OS contains a full new set of presets (actually they're not new - they're mostly from the downloadable Axial banks from the Roland site), but it's not supposed to do anything with them unless you carry out a factory reset. You might have a bit of a bug there. It'...

Re: Please help a Midi n00b wire my JD up

Haha perfect advice! Actually it's hard when you really feel lost - when I used to use synths in the 80s, being lost was the best thing for me, cos the experimenting led to me discovering the most amazing sound designs. I guess I've reached that age - the sort of age that led to older people in the ...

Re: Please help a Midi n00b wire my JD up

HI PauloF (and others of course!) I’ve only just been able to set my system up, due to extremely poor health. Happily, I was able to work out a way of fitting my JP-8000 into the very small space I have to work with. This means the JP can now act as a controller. The keyed isn’t that great, but it’s...

Re: Shelf and Rack for my Boutique Gear - Photo

That shelf is brilliant. It's actually exactly what I'm looking for.

I bought one of those gorgeous wooden stands that hold two boutiques, but I need what you've got - 2 units plus keyboard.

If you're in a position to make more, I'd definitely be happy to buy one from you :-)

Re: Please help a Midi n00b wire my JD up

PaoloF, this is amazing :-) I never thought someone would go into so much detail and help so much! I'm sighing wistfully while reading your recommendation to use the XP-80 as a master keyboard. Compared to these newer boards with mini-keys it's inspiring to play. It makes my fingers feel talented. E...

Please help a Midi n00b wire my JD up

Hi everyone. I'm slowly getting back into making music after a long long time away. Last time I used Midi there were no computers, and all I wired together were a drum machine and two synths. Also, to really date me, every piece of kit had Midi thru. Please can I call on your experience to help me w...

Re: is JP-8000 a good choice

I just bought one a few weeks ago. The battery needed replacing but otherwise it's in perfect condition. Oh boy, I am totally in love with this synth. It is a wonderful classic - it seems to hark back to older analogue synths, but obviously it's not analogue. Something about it though.... it's cheek...

MC-505 stuck buttons

Hi everyone. New guy here - I'm a long-time user of (exclusively!) Roland gear, but have spent years with no gear at all. I just bought a JP-8000 and MC-505 from ebay, and I am absolutely in love with them. The MC-505 has a problem. When you tap 'realtime erase', you can use the wheel or dec/inc but...
