Re: Product Dev - Add Bank Change MIDI Receive!
But I don't want to have sounds coming out of both the AX and the XV at the same time. I want to quickly move between them. For this I will use MIDI Channels. I will leave the XV receiving on Channel 1 and change the AX to receive on Channel 2. On the AX is Hold down Shift. Press TX On, 2, Write. Re...

Re: Product Dev - Add Bank Change MIDI Receive!
Okay, since no-one's listening, I'll use this forum as a sketch pad. Since I last posted, things have become clearer. I bought a nice controller, the Roland A-88 keyboard. I have been using the Roland XV-2020 as a sound source, so to test this I just used the MIDI Thru from the XV into the AX-Synth....

Re: AX Synth & Beheringer FCB1010 - HELP!!!!!!!!
That was a bit hard to follow, the arithmetic, so let me put it another way. How do you express the decimal number 87 in Hex? Subtract 1 (because there is no 0 in decimal but there is 0 in Hex) = 86. Divide by 16. That's 5 x 16 and 6 x 1. Hex digits go from 0 thru 9 followed by A thru F. So 56H - 5x...

Re: Ax-synth accordion patches
If they're named like VAMPYRU etc, yes I d/l'ed a couple of years back. There's not much available from my searches, but I'm happy to share. Some of them are good. I trust you will be editing them on your computer.

Re: AX Synth MIDI short comings
If you're only lusing the sounds in the Kronos, how about plugging MIDI Out of your AX into MIDI In of your FCB?
True, the AX always transmits Bank and Program Change info, now can the FCB filter it out?

Re: Product Dev - Add Bank Change MIDI Receive!
Should work - see p. 40 of the owner's manual. How are you structuring the bank select command? Are you sending it out on the AX receive channel. AX default is Ch 1 but some controllers refer to it as Hex 00. Channel 16 is 0F Hex. My MFC-10 foot controller calls it C0 to CF. Check your owners manual...

Re: AX-Synth LAYERS and PEDAL questions.
Yes, you can change patches with a foot pedal. I use the classic Yamaha MFC-10 that has two modes, Program Change and Function. In PC mode, press the X10 button once for the tens digit, then one of the buttons 0-9 for the ones digit. If you're already in say patch 11 then just press the 9 to send pa...

Re: AX Synth
Not a lot of us are creating new sounds for the AX-Synth, despite the ease-of-use of the Editor software. If it because there's not a lot of users, or because AX users are not programmer types?
Are any other synths compatible with the AX. Fantom? Other Supe Natural patches?

Re: AX Synth & Beheringer FCB1010 - HELP!!!!!!!!
Oops, the MSB is 87 decimal, which is 56 (5 x 16 = 80 so 5 x 16 + 7 = 87 but remember the offset 1 because 0 is the first number, not 1, so 5 x 16 = 50 plus (7-1) = 56). I just use a spreadsheet. 56 Hex, also written 0x56 or 56H, means the Roland AX Synth. So the sound in Bank 5, Tone 21 is b0H 56H ...

Re: AX Synth & Beheringer FCB1010 - HELP!!!!!!!!
Well, I'm using the venerable Yamaha MFC10 with the AX-Synth and it's a dream, though the editing is so tedious I am tempted to write an iPad app just for the foot controller. One of the features of the Yam FC is a Function mode which lets me program chords of up to 4 notes for each of the 10 large ...
