Are there any samples left in the temp folder (user and card)?

Could it be that you are loading more user samples (as opposed to card samples) into the RAM on startup than you did when you first created the song?

Could the mastering effects be on?

A couple of short samples wouldn’t take up 1Gb. Make sure there are no samples in the Temp folder. You might actually want to reformat the card just in case. I have several 1Gb cards and so many samples on them that they take 7+ minutes to load. And they’re not even full.

The action of the Yamaha pianos (in this case an old P200) is better than on the X8 - which I find very clunky. They do feel different but I liked both; the P150 was my main controller for about 14 years and it had to go when I acquired the X8. The one controller I hated the feel of was the CME UF8.

OK, this probably won't help but, on the keyboard version, it's under Patch Edit --> Util Menu.

You probably see something different from the manual because of a software update. I had that issue with my old Akai S5000.

I read about that same complaint somewhere in the past. IIRC, that was also the case with some SR-JV80 cards in my old JV-1080. So yes, that is normal and I understand if you feel cheated by Roland.

You might be able to achieve this using clever sysex programming via RPS but I know nothing about RPS so I really can't help.

Oh, I see. Have you browsed through the various folders to see if there are any bmp files inside? You may be able to replace them with yours.

Indeed. The closest you can get on a Fantom is to split two patches across the keyboard in Performance mode, turn off 'Hold' for the right-hand part and use a hold pedal. This still wouldn't mimick the chord behaviour described though. I don't see what purpose this serves, personally.

I'm not sure I understand what the button does on the Tyros. Do you mean you're playing a string sound with your left hand, presumably in split mode, then you switch to another patch but the strings don't cut off abruptly if they have a long release? That is possible to achieve on the Fantom. Or do ...

When you create a multisample with two samples assigned to C2 and E2, the lower sample will automatically be assigned to a range covering the lowest note to about D2 and the higher sample will cover the rest of the notes. Check page 221 of the manual. Your picture file must be in BMP (bitmap) format - not GIF - and must be of the size specified on the aforementioned page of the manual (320 x 240 pixels). The procedure is described on the same page.
