Re: Octave shift with splits?
Its also very powerful I noticed, you get a whole tranche of options that I hadn't really paid much attention to before. If you only need a selection of tones for your Studio Set for arguments sake lets say 4... can you blank out or remove the unused parts i.e 5 - 16 because you won't be using them?...

Re: Octave shift with splits?
ok I see, you have to do it as part of a Studio Set rather than just use the buttons for split and octave up/down
thank you for the replies

Octave shift with splits?
Hi guys I'm struggling with what I thought would be an easy config setting on my FA08... With a 2 part split I want to be able to shift the upper split section of the keyboard down an octave, but I cant seem to do it for the split section if I ask the FA08 to -1 octave it applies it to the whole key...

Re: FA08 + KC-110 amp issues
The recommendation I got from the music store was to use a KC-150 or above, they considered the KC-110 to be suitable for its portable battery applications only not a proper keyboard amp. I wanted a stereo system ideally but simply not prepared to spend a fortune on something like a KC-880 or a twin...

Re: FA08 + KC-110 amp issues
I think you are right the Roland KC-110 simply can't handle the job being asked of it or the FA08 is clipping the signal and trying to drive the speakers too hard.
Thanks for the recommendation on the other options I'll probably send the KC-110 back and look at one of those.

FA08 + KC-110 amp issues
hi guys, hoping someone can offer some advice... I recently bought the Roland KC-110 'stereo keyboard amp' to complement my FA08 and replace what was effective an old Sony home hifi amp/speaker set. I don't need any serious PA type amp I'm a beginner player at best not a performer. My issue is this,...

Re: What's the best way to play along with songs from my pho
I sometimes plug my laptop into the input jack of the FA08, useful for tutorial videos... tbh I find the best way if I am trying to learn a tune is to load the mp3 onto the SDRAM and then use the sampler to trigger the music. It saves you having to mess about with another device whilst working on yo...

for the benefit of others...
I settled on the "Hercules BS100B Music Stand" in the end and am very pleased with it in combination with my FA08.

Re: Roland Fa or Korg krome
When I looked into this many months ago, I basically decided that the Krome looks good, nice screen and some great PCM sounds like 'Paddylicious' and of course the Kronos Grand Piano plus combi's to reproduce well known songs. The FA08 though does less of what I considered to be superficial or one-o...

Re: Music Rest advice?
No suggestions then :-(
I was hoping to avoid a tripod stand and music sheet rest due to limited room behind my FA08.

Re: vangelis saw sound
You have to buy an FA06/08 from Guitar Guitar in Glasgow (Scotland) then ask John Sweeney for his tone settings or patch etc... or (speaking as a complete novice here) You take a good Saw Lead then edit it into a Super Saw and add some additional instruments and effects, detune it a little and lo Va...

Re: FA Editor
If you enable sending changes it sends out via sysex the commands when you use the on screen editor. (Sending sysex changes is off by default). Have you tried midi monitoring the FA (with sysex changes ON ) and see if it records anything. That is exactly what I did a few posts above. You see a repe...

Music Rest advice?
I was hoping for some advice regarding buying/attaching a music rest or stand to the FA08 (mine sits on the Roland KS18Z Z frame), what do you use or can you recommend a solution?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Electric guitar sounds
What helped me a lot (once I figured it out), was having selected the instrument group press the ENTER button and you get a better layout of all the options. As well as using the wheel to scroll up and down the list you can use the arrow buttons (left/right) to move between different types of tones ...
